Its one out of 2 choices

1 - Brazil are so damn good and fit that they are capable of playing 2 games after one another and in different countries

or

2 - Sky Sports have made a mistake and put Brazil there to face Uruguay instead of Chile.

The choice is yours

tigerthesmurf85 - November 18, 2007 01:35 PM (GMT)
Yeah Brazil's at 9. Can't wait. I'm gonna see American Gangster first, but I'll be thinking about the qualifier. Who d'you think'll finish top. Argentina or Brazil?

Cripps - November 18, 2007 01:38 PM (GMT)
Argentina probably.

They always do well in the qualifiers but choke in the main event

Brazil always seem to beat Argentina when it really matters.

Cripps - November 18, 2007 01:43 PM (GMT)
They sure do and some people think Argentina are better than Brazil

Trust me, we wont see Argentina win a world cup again in our life time.

tigerthesmurf85 - November 18, 2007 01:45 PM (GMT)
How sweet it is to here those words spoken :cloud9:

Both my home countries are rivals with Argentina.

The only country I really don't like. Football wise.

I was supporting them in the Rugby World Cup.

Cripps - November 18, 2007 01:49 PM (GMT)
On their day, they can play some brilliant football.

Take the last world cup for example, they beat Maccys team 6-0 and everyone in the world was creaming themselves over them and how they are destined to win the tournament. I however sat back and said they wouldnt get past the Quarters and they didnt as the Germans and particularly Lehmann kicked their butts.

tigerthesmurf85 - November 18, 2007 02:24 PM (GMT)
Am I being too controversial when I say that their 24 pass goal, or whatever it was, didn't really amaze me much? For me, a great team goal, would involve, 5 quick passes up the pitch and a goal from that. Seeing 25 passes around the centre doesn't really do it for me. Okay, the last few touches were very good. But for me, the goal would've been exactly the same had it been only those last 5 passes. Not including every other pass.

Cripps - November 18, 2007 02:29 PM (GMT)
Agree with you all the way.

Give me a 5 pass move from one end to the pitch to the other with a goal than a long boring one they did.

How people can compare that to Brazils one in the 1970 world cup il never know

Thank you. Don't see why everyone was fingering themselves over that goal. Counter attacks are much better.

tigerthesmurf85 - November 18, 2007 03:59 PM (GMT)
I hope Elano plays tonight. Is he in the squad? He plays well when playing for Brazil and definitely deserves his chance.

tigerthesmurf85 - November 18, 2007 08:33 PM (GMT)
Uruguay  and Chile are drawing 1-1. Salas :yikes: scored Chile's goal.

Late quote, my only apology is that I became a member of GW in late december 2007 :) , though been a gooner for some 12 years now.

The day I saw that match I was comfortable to see my own Argentina lose, as they didn´t deserve a single point then, neither they did in some of the previous games, just the overrated Riquelme ( ) scored two free-kicks (I doubt he´d do that in a more important match, as you all surely know).

My feelings for the next two games against Ecuador and Brazil are dark. The coach (same of USA 94 :sulk: ) keeps playing obsolete players (Abbondanzieri, Zanetti, Burdisso, Cambiasso, Riquelme, Cruz, Crespo) most of them in the starting XI. Some have a bit of quality, like riquelme, but didn´t do anything for the team (not only) against Germany, for example, so it wouldn´t susprise me that they played great now (not that they´re doing so, of course, not at all) and in 2010, pure crap, and that would be the end, once more and counting.

If Argentina beats both teams some people (say, all the argentinian journos) will start singing: "Oh the dream team", "riquelme is the heart of this outstanding team", "abbondanzeri is irreplaceable" (or unreplaceable????? corrections are welcome!!!), "if we beat Brazil, we´re the best", and a load of bullshiste. I´m bored of all this and it would be bad for the likes of Messi, Agüero, Demichelis, Coloccini, Mascherano, Maxi Rodriguez, (tevez too but he´s a manc fckhim bstrd), etc, but this team needs some deep cleansing and some defeats would help, now that there´s time left to correct mistakes.....

Well it grew a long post but, we´ll see soon.

1-1 in the 94th minute.

You´ll never see that impossible absurd load of luck in a real tournament (say World Cup or Copa America), this is why Argentina always do "well" in qualifiers. Now everyone will think the team has "ambitions" until the last minute, nothing farthest from the truth than that. Palacio is crap, don´t get confused.

Unbearable to see them. Never ever sign any of those scumbags for our Arsenal.

Now Argentina is in 2nd place!!! How can that be for God´s sake!!! Those 4 minutes were casually convenient...
