10 points once it's rubber stamped.

Cripps - November 22, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
So they go to the bottom of the league

Injury Time - November 22, 2007 08:04 PM (GMT)
gutted I thought they were supposed to buying a new stadium etc now this :(

Flava Flavs - November 22, 2007 09:39 PM (GMT)
didnt their ex-chairman just get time for taking illegal payments and fiddling the books?

Gunnersgod - November 22, 2007 09:40 PM (GMT)
Yup.

Man, thats one f*cked up club.

1886 - November 24, 2007 11:29 AM (GMT)
makes you wonder where all that money went, and how

Coney - November 24, 2007 11:33 AM (GMT)
Again, points deducted from a club in trouble. WFT is that for? Just as they are looking to get someone to invest to turn things round, the FA put the boot in and make it even less of a proposition to a potential buyer. How the f*** is that supposed to help English football? FA tossers.

Theologooner - November 26, 2007 03:42 PM (GMT)
Eric Morecambe must be spinning in his grave.

Blackwell and 2 other staff members resign

Cripps - January 11, 2008 03:56 PM (GMT)
They've sold a bunch of players as well

Liverpool should destroy them

Well the administrator sold 2, released 1, loaned out 2 others plus there is a possibility 3 others might go. The two sold were for about a third of their true values.

WithAnR - January 11, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
Also the players were not getting paid. Blackwell was actually paying the mortgages of some of the players.

Blackwell sacked as Luton manager

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...own/7183317.stm

But a club statement said: "Brendan Guilfoyle, joint administrator of Luton Town, has terminated the contract of Kevin Blackwell with immediate effect."

I am beginning to think the Administrator(s) think they are Hitler or something.

Est. 1886 - January 16, 2008 03:04 PM (GMT)
Blackwell was at the wrong club at the wrong time anyway

He actually walked, as did the rest of the managemnet and coaching team.

When they found out the administrators had sold half the players they just jacked it all in....

Now Nick Own is buying them??

Dont have nightmares...

Bournemouth latest club under threat of administration.

Coca Kolo - January 21, 2008 11:38 PM (GMT)
the mis-management of clubs, particularly those in the lower leagues, where the money is tight, is staggering!

Well you say that but for me what is staggering is the huge gaps in money distribution between the haves and the have-nots.

I realise it all comes down to supply and demand but the whole setup of football these days is that money brings success and success brings money. This creates the gap at the top of the Premiership which we're now seeing. And it makes it very difficult for the clubs in lower divisions to survive on the crumbs which fall from our tables.

Flava Flav - January 22, 2008 08:59 AM (GMT)
The ITV digital collapse screwed a lot of clubs as well, they were expecteing a balanced pay out (Something the FA has no idea about) and then all the money just nvanished

:o

Yes! I'd forgotten about that.
Yeah, they negotiated this deal and then it all collapsed and they didn't get the money.

I had On Digital when I first moved out of home.
I watched one CL game on it and I saw in the paper the next day that for the amount they paid to screen the game it would have been cheaper for them to have flown the few thousand people who watched it out there and bought them tickets for the game.

No matter how pronounced the gap may appear over here it's even worse, nay, much worse in other European countries. In Spain or Italy for instance, the big clubs are allowed to negotiate their own TV deals rather than, in the Prem for example, the money being distributed by the FA across all 20 teams. Also, with the advent of Setanta it means Sky have been forced in to showing more Championship games. It's a sad indictment when clubs can only stay afloat because of TV deals but that's the way it is these days.

dazthegooner - January 22, 2008 11:04 AM (GMT)
Serves them right for beating us in 1988 :sulk:

PArt of the problem comes from over spending or financial speculation as well.

Used to to be that your gate reciepts were used or wages and all other profit, food, sponsorship etc etc was used to do everything else.

Part of he problem is also chairman who want to take out huge amounts of money for themselves when it doesnt really exist, the term "break even" doesnt make sense to these guys.

Cripps - June 4, 2008 04:43 PM (GMT)
And they are now deducted 10 points for next season

Breaking news on SSN

Rors - June 4, 2008 04:58 PM (GMT)
This is a 'punishment' 10point deduction as well. I give them 12months tops at this rate...

McNamara That Ghost... - June 4, 2008 05:00 PM (GMT)
Yup apparently it's due to paying agents through a third party? Paying somebody/something through a third party in any case!

Flava Flav - June 6, 2008 10:17 AM (GMT)
Serves them right for the horror that was TVAM

WithAnR - June 8, 2008 12:17 PM (GMT)

Marc Overmars - June 8, 2008 12:27 PM (GMT)
feel sorry for their fans, having to suffer because of some crooked bastards with no business in football.

Keith - June 8, 2008 11:09 PM (GMT)
They also face a further deduction for exiting administration! 15 points I think it was that Leeds got!

So -25 to start off next season.

They are now my local club but due to the price of a ticket I'm yet to visit, if prices drop I may visit this season.

However, away from all of this news the club is still pressing on with it's relocation to a new ground!

Letters (TPFKA WWTL@WHL) - June 9, 2008 10:20 AM (GMT)
Sounds like their relocation to a new division is going well too. :D

As someone said the people who did the deed get a small fine & small van, even that the FA can't enforce. What is more annoying is that a staff member reported this to the FA (otherwise the FA would of never have known) and now due to this I expect that person is now out of a job.

They start the season with a 20 point deduction
