Title: Hatton vs Mayweather official thread
Description: hitman faces pretty boy
4-4-2 - December 2, 2007 11:03 PM (GMT)
predictions and thoughts? Keep everything in here please...
Fight starts at 4.00am English time. This fight is being built up as the fight of the decade so let's hope it lives up to it.
Do you think pubs will show the fight in London (west)? I ain't got sky and don't want to watch it on internet, will they stay open for the fight?
Coca Kolo - December 2, 2007 11:11 PM (GMT)
I'm sure the Pubs in Manchester will stay open.
Anyway i'm going for Mayweather, sure the guy is a twat, but he's a bloody good boxer.
4-4-2 - December 2, 2007 11:14 PM (GMT)
I'm not driving 3 hours to Manchester at 4am.
Coca Kolo - December 2, 2007 11:16 PM (GMT)
Why not stay the night over there?
4-4-2 - December 2, 2007 11:16 PM (GMT)
Can't be arsed.
So you think the likelyhood of pubs in London staying open are slim?
Coca Kolo - December 2, 2007 11:21 PM (GMT)
I wouldn't have any idea mate. What about checking out some Boxing academies or centres in London? I'm sure they'll be open.
Grimandi's Perm - December 2, 2007 11:25 PM (GMT)
Hatton will get smashed to bits.
4-4-2 - December 2, 2007 11:30 PM (GMT)
Why do you say that then GP?

I don't know much about boxing. All I know is, never bet on the white guy.

Berg'starofbethlehem' - December 3, 2007 08:36 AM (GMT)
Hatton will be stopped through Cuts. He has a tendency to mark up and this Mayweather guy is so quick.
However it does have a lot similarities to the Don Curry v Lloyd Honeyghan fight in the eighties, the raggamuffin man upset all the odds that night, perhaps, just perhaps....
Cripps - December 3, 2007 11:25 AM (GMT)
Ģ15 on Box office?
I an not paying that to watch a fight that wont last the distance.
Dont care who wins. Unless its Tyson, boxing is dull
Fairytale of Elche - December 5, 2007 02:25 PM (GMT)
In the 80īs and early 90īs I used to love Boxing. Watching the Eubanks, Watsonīs, Benns from our shores and the Sugar Ray Leonards, Hagglers, Hearns from across the pond.
Then they diluted it and destroyed it with all the different belts. Every now and again a Lennox fight would get my interest but that was about it.
This fight is return to the glory days of the great fighters being allowed to go toe to toe.
Mayweather is an all time great but arrogent and crass...perfect for Boxing.
Hatton is an animal from the streets of Manchester. His life is boxing.
I canīt wait. Its a show , a spectacle and Iīll be watching. Boxing isnīt made like this these days. So itīs great to see a match like this.
Mayweath should win and well....but you never know...you just never know.
So Iīll go for a dramatic Hatton stoppage in 8 rounds. But heīll be cut and hurt!!!
Cripps - December 5, 2007 02:27 PM (GMT)
Is it on tv in Spain?
My brothers thinking of ordering it.
Ģ15 it costs. Not really a fan of boxing and as its on at 4am, thats another downside to it but it is the fight of the year and has to be watched
Eggnog Flava'd Flavs - December 5, 2007 02:53 PM (GMT)
I hate boxing, i mean really hate it, i hate the thought of anyone getting hurt and cringe if someone is watching it in my presence.
But......i hope Hatton gices him a bloody good hiding
Tuman - December 5, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
Apparently Mayweathers hands are giving him trouble, not entirely sure what that means but he won't be able to do much if every time he hits Hatton he yelps in pain, a little undermining.
I don't know much about boxing but I reckon Hatton could give him a run for his money, Mayweather may be quicker but Hatton hits like a frelling train, it could be interesting.
As a side note, if Hatton met him outside the ring it wouldn't even take a minute, everything I have heard and seen of Hatton makes me think he is scarily hard but in the ring that don't matter so much I guess.
Santa That Elf Just Isn't... - December 5, 2007 03:31 PM (GMT)
Just hit Mayweather with a chair. <_<
Gooner4Life84 - December 5, 2007 06:58 PM (GMT)
By the time Hatton has finished with him, he won`t be so pretty then will he! lol
The Christmas Merse - December 8, 2007 11:02 AM (GMT)
Did anyone see Hatton call Mayweather a "f***in clown" (though not to his face) on the last edition of 24/7 (Sky Sports' over-elaborate build-up to the fight).......?
Mayweather thinks all the fans from Manchester have come over to see him!
:haha:
Should be a Hatton win methinks. He'll spoil Mayweather's technique by keeping in close, thereby not allowing Prettyboy the full extent of his reach.

Heres the weigh in.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_yvd3NJsjgHatton has got LOADS of support there!

I want Mayweather to win because he is such a modest, down-to-earth, non-materialistic kinda guy.

Yeah Mayweather acts like a Cnut but thats all part of the hysteria to generate such massive media attention otherwise this match wouldn't be labelled one of the most exciting boxing events in history
I'd like Hatton to win but,
My head says that Mayweather will win
Synta Claus - December 8, 2007 10:09 PM (GMT)
Just heard a great quote on SSN. "Mayweather's a boxer, Hatton's a fighter. And boxers beat fighters".......I'm afraid that could be right.
ryankearney - December 8, 2007 10:10 PM (GMT)
Loved it when Mayweather came in
"Who are ya"

It was a genuine question.
They truly had no idea who Mayweather was

Amir Kahn wins in the first round
What a farce
ryankearney - December 8, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)

Santa's Sleigh Bells Zim - December 9, 2007 05:43 AM (GMT)
Knocked out outclassed, Mayweather was superior in every way.
Hatton is a gusty fighter but he came up against one of the best tonight.
Mr Whitersled - December 9, 2007 07:44 AM (GMT)
apparently there is talk of mayweather going into promoting now and hatton staying around
maybe he'll go up against delahoya?
Berg'starofbethlehem' - December 9, 2007 08:31 AM (GMT)
Hatton was always going to be struggling at this weight, he just ain't powerful enough against the bigger guys. Best thing he can do is go back to light Welter and clean up where he's suited too. He was fortunate tonight, Mayweather for all his undoubted ability is not a big puncher, if hatton hangs around at this weight then he could get seriously hurt. Someone mentioned De lahoya, if he connected with Hatton he'd take his head off.

Santa That Elf Just Isn't... - December 9, 2007 10:36 AM (GMT)
More glorious failure eh?
NY Mets - December 9, 2007 11:04 AM (GMT)
I'd like to see Ricky Hatton to take on Junior Witter now, that would be a good figth and shut Witter up.
It'd be good to see Mayweather taking on de la Hoya in a rematch or fight Miguel Cotto.
There is talk of Amir Khan becoming a great fighter, but hes gonna have a tough time at his weight if he ever has to come against the awesome Juan Diaz.
