Title: Burnley v Arsenal
Description: FA Cup 3rd round

Cripps - January 1, 2008 05:25 PM (GMT)
What will the team be like?

Burnley just lost 3-0 to Blackpool and are 12th in the championship.

Basically no matter what team we play, we should walk it.

Coca Kolo - January 1, 2008 05:28 PM (GMT)
reckon it'll be a Carling Cup team.

Gunnersclaus - January 1, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
Think Wenger will go with 75% of the Carling Cup regulars.

Cripps - January 1, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
Lehmann or Fabianski

Id go for

Lehmann

Hoyte Senderos Djourou Traore

Randall Diarra Denilson Diaby

Theo Eduardo

Coca Kolo - January 1, 2008 05:32 PM (GMT)
it'll be Fabianski, thats for sure. (well IMO)

Cripps - January 1, 2008 05:35 PM (GMT)
If Lehmann doesnt play in the FA Cup games, when will he play?

It should be Lehmann as Fabianski has the Carling cup

Coca Kolo - January 1, 2008 05:35 PM (GMT)
he's off.

Cripps - January 1, 2008 05:37 PM (GMT)
Leaving us with 2 keepers for the rest of the season?

Too risky

Cripps - January 1, 2008 05:52 PM (GMT)
There he is

Da Silva Tinsel - January 1, 2008 05:55 PM (GMT)
I can see it being the team Cripps posted, but with Bendtner alongside Eduardo and Walcott on the right, and some of the reserve team players on the bench (Merida, Randall possibly). Initially I hoped RVP would have a chance for this game but the Birmingham game looks more likely now for him.

Cripps - January 1, 2008 05:57 PM (GMT)
Id rather see Theo up front as hes shown a lot of promise this season and is ever improving.

Also a big fan of Randall and he impressed against Blackburn

Toure de Lapland - January 1, 2008 06:04 PM (GMT)
Good win Blackpool :scarf:

Back to Arsenal though, Burnley have been out of form recently so we should win, but we shouldn't expect to go there and win because if we do that we lose.

that came out wrong. i meant if we went there relaxed about it thinking we would walk it then we lose. I doubt we will though. We will win.

Does anyone know if this is going to be one of the televised matches on the BBC?

Total Festive Football - January 1, 2008 07:48 PM (GMT)
Yes it's on BBC 1 at 2pm

Berg'starofbethlehem' - January 1, 2008 08:05 PM (GMT)
Likely to be something such as

fabianski

Hoyte
Senderos
Djourou
Traore

Denilson
Diarra
Walcott
Diaby

Eduardo
Bendtner

I reckon bench will be quite strong, don't think he'll risk it as much as a Carling Cup game.

tigertheelf - January 1, 2008 08:07 PM (GMT)
Not sure that Djourou will start.

I agree, although probably Walcott wide right and Denilson in the centre instead :D

------------------------------------------Almunia--------------------------------------------

Hoyte-----------------Senderos------------------Gallas-----------------------------Clichy

Walcott------------------Diarra-------------Fabregas---------------------------Hleb

-------------------------Van Persie-----------Adebayor-------------------------------

I reckon that could be the team.

Perhaps Song then maybe, did he get called up for ACON ?

Wenger usually plays near to full strength in all rounds of the FA cup. Saying taht i wouldn't be too bothered if the CC team played as they've played and beat much better opponents.

I take it you've seen a fair bit of Randall then, What qualities does Randall have ? saw him against Blackburn and he did ok for a while, looked a promising debut.

You have a point there in fairness, as well as I doubt Wenger would think the CC team could do a job twice in three days, seeing the date of the CC first leg, leads me to think he might send some big guns to Burnly, or indeed he could do the opposite, play CC team against Burnley and the big guns against the spuds.

Warning__ - January 2, 2008 10:13 AM (GMT)
------------------ Fabianski ------------------
-- Hoyte -- Gallas -- Senderos -- Traore --
-- Randall -- Diarra -- Denilson -- Walcott --
------------- Eduardo -- Bendtner ----------

Subs:

Almunia
Diaby
Barazite
Merida
Rosicky

We should breeze it. :good: I can see 3 - 5 goals.

I hope so.

Mr Whitersled - January 2, 2008 11:04 AM (GMT)
I'd love to see Gibbs play, he looked awesome in the emirates cup and is still very young

randall, merida, bendtner, the hoyte brothers, traore could all deserve a game

The Ollie And The Ivy - January 2, 2008 02:27 PM (GMT)
while i think that we will walk it, i have a part of me that has a bad feeling about this game, i mean its the fa cup and anything can happen

dazthegooner - January 2, 2008 02:36 PM (GMT)
The evening standard says that we will be nearly at full strength for this match as Wenger doesn't fell the 2nd team could cope with two competitive matches so close together.

Gunnersclaus - January 2, 2008 02:38 PM (GMT)
Think we'll win it, but we won't hammer them, I reckon a 2 or 3 nil win with them putting in a good account of themselves.

Cripps - January 2, 2008 02:45 PM (GMT)
Anyone know anything about Burnley players?

Does Akinbiyi still play for them?

Santa That Elf Just Isn't... - January 2, 2008 02:46 PM (GMT)
If the weather is bad, this match will be called off, Burnley always have home games called off every year.
