But seriously, it's gonna be tough.
Hopefully we get a big enough win tomorrow.

hleb_on_left - January 8, 2008 02:32 PM (GMT)

Gunnersgod - January 8, 2008 02:38 PM (GMT)
we need a clean sheet and/or a 2 goal cushion to take into this.

otherwise we won't progress.

RVP Left Foot - January 8, 2008 03:39 PM (GMT)
Rvp may be back and play

:goodpost: I agree.

Powlo - January 10, 2008 01:30 PM (GMT)
If everyone is fit from last night I think this team would take us through..

Fab

Sagna Hoyte Senderos Traore

Walcott Denilson Flamini Diaby

RVP Edu

Gilberto was shocking so I'd bring Flam in to toughen the middle of the park up.

Bendy didn't do much so I'd give RVP and Edu a go together.

Diaby was poor on the left but I'd leave him there and have one of Hleb or Rosicky on the bench.

RVP Left Foot - January 10, 2008 02:08 PM (GMT)
Wenger should bring in (if fit) a few more experienced players for this match maybe cesc or flam, it is a semi final after all and at half time its 1-1. Am worried we might get turned over big time over their.

Gunnersgod - January 10, 2008 02:10 PM (GMT)
Play Gallas and Rosicky, Wembley here we come.

Well, something like that anyway. :coffee:

Warning__ - January 10, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
If we play the same team we will get ruined over. We have no Baptista this time. ;)

I would hope for a team like this:

-------------- Fabianski --------------
- Sagna - Hoyte - Gallas - Traore -
- Randall - Flamini - Diarra - Rosicky
-------- Eduardo ------ Ade --------

Would hope for something like that anyway... with RvP on the bench coming on for Dudu/Ade laters. Won't happen though.

Cripps - January 10, 2008 02:19 PM (GMT)
Fabianski

Hoyte Senderos Djourou Traore

Walcott Denilson Gilberto Randall

Eduardo RVP

Play Gallas, my thoughts exactly.

Czech Out Rosicky - January 10, 2008 09:14 PM (GMT)
did anyone get a ticket they now do not need?

-------------- Fabianski --------------
- Sagna - Hoyte - Gallas - Traore -
- Walcott - Flamini - Randall - Gibbs
-------- Eduardo ------ RVP --------

I admit it is a young and inexperienced team but these guys need this kind of experience

I dont think we will play well. Expecting spuds to do what spuds do best, roll over and give us another win. :coffee:

There will be several first teamers on the bench, maybe even starting, bit like last year when Fab came on at half time when we were 2-0 down and brought it back to 2-2. The kids can play in the final but we've got to get there first.

Czech Out Rosicky - January 19, 2008 12:15 PM (GMT)
Gibbs to start on the left is my wish - give the guy a shot

rosicky/hleb, cesc, adebayor all on the bench as welll

i dont think they will happen though

tigerthesmurf85 - January 19, 2008 12:16 PM (GMT)
COR are you going?

RVP Left Foot - January 20, 2008 12:46 PM (GMT)
Who will play centre back ? please not Gilberto, we should go their with a strong bench, give the spuds someting to think about, if things are not going that well
Dont think this time we will make it thru to the final

tigerthesmurf85 - January 20, 2008 12:48 PM (GMT)
Senderos Gallas

Gunnersgod - January 20, 2008 12:51 PM (GMT)
hopefully we have some firepower in the squad this time, randall and lansbury out, hleb and rosicky in.

tigerthesmurf85 - January 20, 2008 12:58 PM (GMT)
We want that but Arsene will still play the kids.

Cripps - January 20, 2008 01:02 PM (GMT)
Play the kids by all means.

Just have a stronger bench

Czech Out Rosicky - January 20, 2008 01:17 PM (GMT)
Rosicky/Hleb, Fabregas and Adebayor on the bench at least

Gibbs to start on the left

I don't understand the point of not playing the kids to get to the final and then playing the kids there? Either you want to win it no matter what, in which case you play first-teamers. Or you want to play it (win it) with the kids, in which case you play the kids.

Mr Brighterside - January 20, 2008 08:45 PM (GMT)
--------------Fabianski
Hoyte-----Ponderous--Dhjourwho-----Traore
Randall--Denilson---Gilberto----Gibbs
-------Walcott--Bendtner

won't happen but I like it :D

XsNrG - January 20, 2008 09:12 PM (GMT)
Think the kids will lose this one, but well done to them for getting this far.

Stephenfc - January 20, 2008 10:41 PM (GMT)
Think it will be a different 11 from the one which started on Saturday. Why would Wenger not make any subs if he did not mean to select an entirely different 11. The only possibles would be Senderos and Sagna but I do not think Wenger will risk them given our lack of defensive cover.

Agree r.e. the subs, it is not as if sitting on the bench is as valuable an experience as starting so we may as well have a bench with the ability to make a difference, especially as our team strength compared to the spuds means there is a strong possibility of it going tits up and our being 2-0 down again at some point.

My team.

Fabianski

Hoyte Nordveit (is he fit?) Gilberto Traore

Randall Diaby Denilson Gibbs

Walcott Bendtner

Subs: Fabregas, Rosicky, Adebayor, Eduardo, Mannone

The kids should start but surely a stronger bench makes sense?

Yep. That's what I'd like to see.

“The players who were on the bench at Fulham will play,” he said. “But I will have to play one or two who played on Saturday because we are short in numbers.”

One reporter asked if William Gallas would be one of that duo.

“I will see,” replied the Arsenal manager. “Come to the game on Tuesday!”

From Arsenal.com

So Diaby, Bendy, Hoyte & Gilberto will play. Maybe Jens too?

Lehmann

Hoyte Gallas Senderos Traore

Randall? Gilberto Denilson Diaby

Bendy Walcott

Maybe?

I think (and hope you are right). I think arsene realises that as its a semi and the spuds, risking a fledgling at CB is not an option . I think the question is will randall and walcott both start and will he be tempted to go 4-5-1 rather than 4-4-2. I reckon Cesc, Hleb and Ade will be on the bench as insurance.

Powlo - January 21, 2008 02:03 PM (GMT)
He's said Walcott isn't a winger now though, and he was rested on the weekend to start on Tuesday, so I can't see him being on the right tomorrow.

If not Randall then it will have to be Hleb or Rosicky on the right.

pk_gunner - January 21, 2008 03:06 PM (GMT)
Rosicky maybe.
