Article on Sergio Torres, formerly of Boca Juniors and now...Wycombe. It's not all foreign players who land here with lucrative contracts and many who come to try their luck do in fact struggle (he had to work at Boots to make ends meet, getting at 5am to stack shelves before cycling to matches) ...a humbling story after all the crap about Cashley, Defoe et al.

Liverpool got the wrong Torres!!

| He found himself sharing a house - and even a bed - with a group of similarly itinerant and penniless Cameroonians. |
He's already earnt my respect
Heard that story before and :respect: to him
He was expecing £6.00 an hour at Boots, but when his manager phoned him and said the figure of £5.50, he nearly swerved (his bicycle) off the road!
I go and see Wycombe quite a bit and Sergio is definitely good enough to be playing in the Championship at least. Teams is league two, and Bolton, Chelsea, Liverpool, Derby and Wigan, tend to hoof the ball up the pitch, and Torres is only any good when he gets the ball to feet. If he's allowed a bit of time and space which you get in the higher leagues, he would be fantastic.
I hope he goes far. It'd be a shame, as a Wycombe fan, to see him go, but he's worked hard and deserves it.
