Amazing how Gilberto gets in Brazil's team really. Surely they have someone better?

Can't argue with that really. Have rarely seen someone give the ball away so well ;)
As a note, regarding Arsenal's lack of contribution to England - Upson, Bently and Cole all learnt their trade at Arsenal. 3 players. Only West Ham can claim to have contributed as many.
Cripps - February 6, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)

Yep, just seen on RAWK, despairing at their striking options.
"Don't worry, we have Voronin..."
Cripps - February 6, 2008 10:01 PM (GMT)
Just read
a possible hamstring injury for him.
Oh well
Anyone know how Hleb did?
Did Rosicky play?
Da Silva Lining - February 6, 2008 10:03 PM (GMT)
Stepanovs scored for Latvia :respect:
Yossarian - February 6, 2008 10:06 PM (GMT)
How did Cesc do for Spain? From what I've heard and seen he doesn't seem to play as well for them as he does for us.
I know I take the piss out of Liverpool a lot and never miss an opurtunity to laugh at their sheer incompetence but :banghead: at Torres getting injured. We need Liverpool to take points of Chelsea at the weekend as they are our title rivals; Liverpool arn't. Liverpool are already shite at the minute with Torres in the team so losing him will make them even shiter.
Cripps - February 6, 2008 10:10 PM (GMT)
Dont know how he actually played in the game, you'll have to ask our resident Spaniard.
He did play the whole game though something he rarely does so thats an improvement or not depending on whose point of view you look at it from.
jdschmi1 - February 7, 2008 03:02 AM (GMT)
Vela started for Mexico in their friendly against USA :good:
Has been playing pretty well.
BoarderDave - February 7, 2008 04:13 AM (GMT)
Now that vela has been sub'd off for dos santos i can honestly say he looked to be the most dangerous person on the pitch. Causing alot of problems up the left hand side. All in all a very good looking player who will more than likely solve our 'winger problem'. Cant wait to see him in an arsenal shirt ripping people like neville a new glory hole!

Cesc actually looked a bit sharper than normal. His partnership with Iniesta looks like Spains 1st chioce option now. Xavi reverting wide almost.
A bit better than his last few Arsenal performances. Not special but improving. Hopefully that continues into the Weekend.

what was the Spanish midfield?
from your description, it sounds as if there were no holding players at all, in contradiction to the analysis in the article TC58 posted in News&Media. (Not that Cesc doesn't, imo, have it in him to play a decent holding game.)
