Ok so I thought I would do this for two reasons, one I think that the French league often gets ignored in the mix and we know that they produce the players yet no one knows anything about the league except that Lyon cheat to win it year after year…….and also cos I am bored.

So my hot tips for the future coming out of the French league ( I decided to do the some others, as the ones who are more established you may know already, (Benzema, Ben Arfa, Nasri etc)

So here you go…..

Benoit Costil – 19 – Goalkeeper – SM Caen – Quality young keeper and is the France Under 21’s keeper. Already attracted Liverpool (Who then chose to go for Itandje instead) and Manyoo were reportedly interested as well. Would be a good buy for us seeing as though mad Jens is off in the summer.

Jeremy Menez – 20 – anywhere midfielder – Monaco – Probably the biggest name on the list, Inter are reported to have had a 10millon euro bid for him turned down in January. Apparently is the new Zidane….we shall see but he is certainly very good. (Capped at U21 level)

Gabriel Obertan – 18 – Winger either side – Bordeaux – Awesome and I love him, in manly kind of way, scored last night in Bordeaux’s demolition of Monaco and showed he is fast, very tricky and can score form the wing. Better than Malouda they all shout….(Get your cheque book out Wenger)

Yohann Gouffran – 21 – Striker – SM Caen – well what can you say? He is lightning and can finish, Ligue 2 player of the year last year and already scoring for the Under 21’s we have been sniffing around for a while. .

Kevin Monnet-Paquette – 19 – Wide Midfielder – RC Lens – Quality, pacy, tricky, good final ball and can play on either wing. Needs to get a lot more games in yet but certainly a rising star. (capped at U19’s)

Steven Thicot – 20 – Defender centre – Nantes – Despite nantes being weirdly relegated at the end of last year they managed to keep a hold of some of the young stars that had been there only shining light, this young man was one of them, big, strong, fast across the turf. Very useful indeed.

Carl Medjani – 22 – Defender Centre – AC Ajaccio – Classy centre half who seems to carry the rest of the Ajaccio on his back at times.(Oddly let go by Rafa Benitez despite being captain of the France under 21’s side.)

Jacques Faty – 22 -Defender right/left/centre – Marsielle – Fast, big, strong, clever, controlled and aware. I can see this guy going on to be one of the best in the world. Got it all and a bag of chips (Capped at u21’s level)

Didier Digard – 21- DM/DC PSG – love this guy, hard as nails, gets stuck in and doesn’t do anything fancy, can play equally as well at Centre half as he did for Le Havre before moving onto PSG in the summer. (Capped at U21 level)

Nice one Flavs, didn't know you were a big fan of french footie, Ligue 1 had the smallest goals per game ratio in Europe last year...
