My first match thread. :faint:

Da Silva Lining - February 20, 2008 10:40 PM (GMT)
We're relying on you to be a good omen Maccy :threaten:

;)

Good reaction from the United game today, shows there's no lasting effects, hoping for a solid 3 points here to maintain our lead :good:

Will Toure be fit?

Lehmann

Sagna Senderos Gallas Clichy

Eboue Cesc Flamini Hleb

Ade Eduardo

Worried about this game. We don't usually play when if we have an early game on Sat after a Wed CL game...

Brum took a point of us in PL I think same again 1-1

Czech Out Rosicky - February 20, 2008 11:56 PM (GMT)
after this we need to ontinue with a win and a good performance

rosicky might be back i think to replace eboue, otherwise theo will start IMO

Jens' Face - February 21, 2008 12:38 AM (GMT)
I expect us to win this game, with a clean sheet and 1 or 2 goals. The fact that Brum took points off us already is, at least for this weekend, a good thing. I think we'll be well up for it.

if it turns out otherwise, well, that'd be Maccy's fault, clearly.

I think I saw somewhere that Eboue's out for a couple of weeks as well, not entirely sure though. But yeah, that team with Walcott coming in if Eboue isn't fit :good:

Ah yes of course

So Walcott in there anyway.

Is Rosicky back for this?

What am i saying, of course he isn't.

Marc Overmars - February 21, 2008 01:07 PM (GMT)
Got a funny feeling about this one, I'm going to opt for a draw. Think we're a due a slip in the league and our confidence might be slightly knocked, plus these lot are no mugs and have given all our rivals a run for their money.

Hopefully I'm wrong.

dostoy - February 21, 2008 01:54 PM (GMT)
I cannot see Adebayor starting in this one.

I think it will be the same team apart from Walcott instead of Eboue and Bendtner for Adebayor.

I hope that either Diaby or Rosicky are back but I doubt either of them will be.

This will be difficult but I hope and expect a win but maybe only just.

Yeah, I think Theo will be given a start. Eduardo looked knackered last night!! Did you see the stats on the TV for how far he's run!! something stupid like 10,000 miles or summit.....kinda like The Proclaimers, but 20 time better.....

bergstar - February 21, 2008 05:31 PM (GMT)
I seriously do not believe that Ade will be rested again

Marc Overmars - February 21, 2008 05:35 PM (GMT)
Eduardo's honeymoon period is over, and Bendtner is a bit guff. Gutted if Ade is injured, hopefully it's just a knock he'll shake off by tomorrow. Hleb better make it as well...without him AND Rosicky I'll be a tad worried about how frequently we'll create chances.

Ade could be injured for this game I think.

If he's injured then fine, it would certainly question the wisdom of resting him in the game before, but then hindsight is a wonderful thing.

Czech Out Rosicky - February 21, 2008 07:33 PM (GMT)
I think Rosicky will be on the bench with theo in for eboue as the only change.

IF, ade has a sore neck wenger might rest him for bendtner as ade looked a bit tired and lethargic against milan. Eddy upo front this game

Not sure why, he'd had 10 days without a game

GOATFACE PREDICTS US TO LOSE

QUOTE
Birmingham v Arsenal (1245 GMT)

I'm going to tip Birmingham to win this one.

The Blues are struggling a little bit for form but they had last week off, their players will be refreshed and they will be up for this game.

It has not been a great week for Arsenal with their 4-0 FA Cup defeat at Manchester United. The Gunners looked like they did not want to be at Old Trafford and that is not a good sign.

Having said that, I thought their goalless draw with AC Milan was not a bad result as I expected the Italians to score an away goal.

Match preview
Verdict: 2-1

Anyway.

I just can't see us going 8 points clear, I hope we do but I fear it won't happen.

We have injuries and the players must still be tired although we know we are much better than Birmingham.

I will be very happy if we win.

Come On Arsenal.

cescytime - February 22, 2008 06:21 PM (GMT)
I'm really worried about this match. We all know what McLeish can do to stifle the opposition, who can forget Scotland in Paris a few months ago. Also at the Emirates last month I was expecting an Arsenal onslaught once Birmingham equalised but that never materialised largely due to the tactics and commitment shown by the Brum midfield and defence.

Hopefully we can sneak a 1-0 victory and return back to London 8 pts clear of the pack.

Come on the Gunners!!!
