Title: Chelsea v Arsenal
Description: Sunday 23rd March 2008

The Merse - February 26, 2008 07:26 PM (GMT)
A little early to start a match thread, I know, but there is a method to my madness...

Does anybody have any tickets for this game? 3 if possible, but I'll be happy with 2. The game was frustratingly sold out just before it would have been on sale to Gooners with 10+ credits

So, it may seem like I'm clutching at straws, but I'd be grateful if you could point me in the right direction.

Cheers all.

(Feel free to add your thoughts on the game when you please!)

Have mine, the only way i think you will get tickets for this is by going on one of those dodgy sites and getting from them.. hate to think what they would charge though

Marc Overmars - March 15, 2008 08:29 PM (GMT)
So we go into a Chav match in poor form again, we made ammends last time, but I think it's fair to say this is twice the task.

The problems right now seem a lot more terminal and it's been 4 years since they lost at home in the league.

1-0 to chelsea

tigerthesmurf85 - March 15, 2008 08:51 PM (GMT)
I think we'll step up a gear for this, a la Milan away.

Cripps - March 15, 2008 08:52 PM (GMT)
1-3 to us

Est. 1886 - March 15, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
We'll lose

Marc Overmars - March 15, 2008 09:02 PM (GMT)
I'll leave the forum for a week if we win.

The Wengerbabies - March 15, 2008 09:09 PM (GMT)

Bring it on! love it when we are underdogs, wenger needs to fire up all the lads get them out there with a point to prove....2-0 win for us is my prediction!

The Merse - March 16, 2008 08:04 AM (GMT)
We'll win 1-2.

But in true Arsenal fashion, we'll go to Bolton the following weekend and lose 1-0.

bergstar - March 16, 2008 08:50 AM (GMT)
Well they both play midweek, UTD will be three points clear, Chelsea level with us when this game comes around.
Is a draw at Chelsea a good result ? normally yeah, but given that UTD will probably then be 6 points ahead of us by 4pm next week, then no it's not. Chelsea is now a must win game, if we're to continue to battle for the title.

Marc Overmars - March 16, 2008 12:00 PM (GMT)
We won't win, my optimism for this game has all but gone. Records are there to be broken, but their home record is nothing short of daunting. If we're going to score it will come from an unlikely source, right now you just don't know which attacker will step up and take responsibility.

Draw at best.

Total Football - March 16, 2008 12:16 PM (GMT)
I know the midfield has become extremely impotent recently, but the first thing to consider is the defence continually conceding idiotic goals, forcing us to force the issue and giving the opposition something to hold onto. Yesterday was a prime example of this. If we can keep it tight and prevent them from scoring, we will eventually get a chance, and if we take it, it could prove massive in the title race.

RVP Left Foot - March 16, 2008 01:16 PM (GMT)
Anything can happen in football, a draw at best, can't see it though, they play wed watch spurs roll over this time. Chavs have a much bigger squad then us and can rotate, we can't. we all know our best 11. Lose 2-1

RVP is the Future - March 16, 2008 02:51 PM (GMT)
It's a must win game now. We know we HAVE to win it, we know we CAN win it. I have a sneaky feeling we WILL win it.

I just hope the players realise it's a make or break game.

Grimandi's Perm - March 16, 2008 03:18 PM (GMT)
This game is winnable, but we have to step up in a big way.

Synergetic - March 16, 2008 03:39 PM (GMT)
Chelsea 4-1 Arsenal

Coca Kolo - March 16, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
Got a strange feeling about this one, despite our recent slump.

I don't think we'll get beat.

1-1.

Yossarian - March 16, 2008 04:44 PM (GMT)
We'll lose 5 - 1

True, but we're always breaking records aren't we?

Besides, we've beat them before, we were the last team to beat them there so it is not impossible. We're the Arsenal FFS. Don't forget we like doing things the hard way.

Bubba the Gunner - March 17, 2008 11:42 AM (GMT)
We can beat good teams. Just not bad ones. Chelsea are good. We win. Simple as.

Walcregas - March 17, 2008 02:00 PM (GMT)
It's been so long since anyone beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge that I'm beginning to think it's not possible. I hate predicting scores cos it feels as if I'm adding to the complacency of the team (I'm sure they pick up on it somehow  ), but I've got a feeling it'll be a draw. If we hadn't fecked up the last four games, a draw probably would've been enough. Now it's not.

Dear oh dear. They really do make it hard for themselves, don't they?

Alpha - March 17, 2008 02:07 PM (GMT)
Arsenal is in dip form for sure but my only worry is fans who are more mentally weak when the team need their support . Any team is beatable . If we beat Juventus, Madrid , Milan when it mattered why not Chelsea ?
Is Chelsea the strongest team in the world ? Has Chelsea never got beaten ? Bunley say No .
Why not believe we can do it ?

Coca Kolo - March 17, 2008 02:08 PM (GMT)
Alpha, welcome back mate. :tiphat:

Cripps - March 17, 2008 02:09 PM (GMT)
If only we had Leroy Lita to score the goals ;)

Cripps - March 17, 2008 02:10 PM (GMT)
We have the week off.

Chelsea play Spuds on Wednesday which will hopefully be a very tiring game.

Will that be a factor?

Well, it'll definately be tiring for those watching. Will be distinctly average I imagine, and chelsea will claw to another 3 points.

Probarbly not, they have a big squad to choose from and can rotate better then most teams

LuvMeGooners - March 18, 2008 10:01 AM (GMT)
If we have any sense, we'll go hell for leather from the off.

Chelsea always start slowly and are there for the taking in the first 10 minutes.

Please AW, put a rocket up 'em before the games starts.
