Description: Sounds good.

http://youngguns.wordpress.com/2008/03/10/...miralem-pjanic/ Arsenal have agreed a fee with Metz for Bosnian play-maker Miralem Pjanić, a player Arsenal First team coaching Boro Primorac also said that Wenger`s men are taking interest in, and who he thinks is a very talented young player who Metz will surely not get to keep for long
We broke the news towards the end of last week, that we were keen on him, after a super impressive 9 goals in just 21 appearances for the French side’s first team, but we can reveal late last night a fee was agreed for his services, but the deal is by no means finished, with the left footed wizard still needed to pass a medical and agree personal terms. North London Pride also confirmed we were in talks a few days ago
But the deal does show Gunner’s chief Arsene Wenger’s pedigree when it comes to buying French talents, with Juventus, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Liverpool and PSV also keen and thought to be readying bids, but Arsenal have jumped the Que for the free scoring wonder-kid.
Pjanić born in Kalesija, Bosnia Herzegovina is a left footed, central midfielder by trade, but he can also play wide on the left or as a striker, blessed with an exceptional rocket shot, he is also superb on free-kick situations.
After coming through the ranks at French strugglers Metz, his talents were obvious, and he was rushed into the first team, quickly making an impact scoring goals despite only being on scholarship terms, however he quickly signed a three year pro deal, and admitted he was happy at Metz, despite a poll appearing on his official website, with visitors able to choose which of Europe’s top clubs they would like him to move to.
“Everything went very fast for me. The club gave me a chance to prove my quality, and that was the most important thing. That’s one reason I’m staying with Metz.”
“My father and my manager reported to me that Olympique Marseille want to buy me. From all the leagues, my most favorable are Spanish and French leagues. The most important thing for me is to play football, and money comes later.”
There have been doubts over his International future, after he represented Luxembourg, in the 2006 European Under-17 Championships, He scored Luxembourg’s only goal a fantastic first time, long range, dipping effort lobbing Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo. In that same year a memorable game against Belgium ended 5-5 with Pjanic scoring 4 goals for Luxembourg.
But he is yet to commit his long term future, with His native country Bosnia-Herzegovina and his current footballing home France wanting him to represent him.
Earlier this week, news appeared on Pjanic’s official website, with the Bosnian admitting he knew the Gunners were keen.
I Am Aware They [Arsenal] And Liverpool Are Wanting To Sign Me, I Want To Go To The Best Team Who Will Look After, And Develop Me

UPDATE, Who knows what to think....
Gunners linked with Metz maestro
by Tom Adams, 10 March 2008
Arsenal are being strongly linked with a move for Metz teenager Miralem Pjanic, but setantasports.com has learnt that The Gunners are yet to make a formal offer for the midfield talent.
Pjanic is only 17 but has been in impressive form for Ligue 1’s bottom side in his first season as a professional, scoring two goals and contributing three assists in 26 games in all competitions.
He has been linked with a number of top European clubs including Real Madrid, Marseille and Liverpool, but talk of a possible summer move to Arsenal is growing despite the player signing a three-year deal with Metz in November.
As yet The Gunners have not tabled a formal bid for the player though, according to the struggling French side.
“FC Metz has not received for the moment any official financial offer from Arsenal FC concerning our midfielder Miralem Pjanic,” a club spokesperson told setantasports.com.
Pjanic starred at the 2006 Uefa Under-17 Championship for Luxembourg – a tournament that saw Barcelona’s Bojan Krkic shine at the age of 15 – but his international future has been the subject of much debate since.
He was recently awarded a Bosnian passport though and is expected to star for the country of his birth in the coming years.
Admitting that interest from North London was flattering, if only speculation at present, Pjanic has revealed that the Bernabeu is his dream destination and that he may seek to move to another French club before trying his luck abroad.
"Nobody from Arsenal or Liverpool talked to me or to my father, but that doesn't mean that those two clubs aren't following me,” said Pjanic on his official website. “It is also nice to hear words of praise from a coach like Arsene Wenger. That's a sign that I'm on a right path.
“I must admit that I'm satisfied with my career so far and I hope I will continue my development in the same way.
"After Metz I would like to move to one of the biggest French clubs. I think that would be the best step for me. Then later, if I will ever be so good, I can start thinking about moving to a gigantic one.
“From early years I dream about Real Madrid but I know well enough that I am far away from the standard which is needed to be part of Real."
Pjanic added regarding his immediate future at Metz: "We will see at the end of the season what will be the best thing for both sides.”

Gilberto - World Cup winner, EPL winner, FA Cup winner, Copa America winner, Cl runner up
Bojan - U17 Euros winner, and golden boot and player of the tournament (2007), U17 WC finalist. Barcelona, scored more than TH14 in his first season, up for player of the year. 889 goals in the youth system a record from any barca cadet ever
Song - won tournament with French (Bastia Cup?), ACON finalist, team of the tournament...
Almunia - CL runner up, FA cup and feck all
Adebayor - top scorer in African zone for WC qualifying, more than Eto'o, Drogba, kanoute etc
Flamini - UEFA cup finalist and CL finalist, FA Cup (didin't play cos of injury)
If AW has faith in them, that means a lot too.

Gilberto I won't even bother with his teammates were "special" players even Cygan won trophies with them.
Any trophies under 19, 17 etc trophies are of a low standard so count for nothing, players win things all the time then and never become any good at senior level
Song - don't know much but he's not on my "don't like list", we'll see how he does
Almunia - won nothing
Adebayor - won nothing
Flamini - won nothing
What have they won together (except Bojan)? Nothing
AW faith, well it's not been proved right to date, no trophies just capitulations and a few thrashings, hopefully he'll sign some quality this summer to give us a chance of winning something next year, players like Ben Arfa and Nasri fit the bill.

No he didn't the like of Pires, Vieira Henry, Campbell and co won that, Flamini was nowhere near the team and Almunia was a backup.

Your problem is that you let your personal bias get in the way of assessing players. You still can't accept that Gilberto was excellent for us for several years.
