Title: Bolton v Arsenal

Cripps - March 23, 2008 06:08 PM (GMT)
Biggest game of the season and a must win game

Warning__ - March 23, 2008 06:13 PM (GMT)
when is it on?

EDIT: OK, Saturday.

I might watch it.

Cripps - March 23, 2008 06:15 PM (GMT)
Next saturday at 3pm

Toure de Emirates - March 23, 2008 06:52 PM (GMT)
Must win game.

gunner 83 - March 23, 2008 08:58 PM (GMT)
can see us loosing

bergstar - March 23, 2008 10:37 PM (GMT)
Bolton will be confident for this one.

Cripps - March 23, 2008 10:42 PM (GMT)
They have lost 5 in a row i think

We havent won in 5.

Somethings got to give

milla - March 23, 2008 10:51 PM (GMT)
2-1 for Bolton

Coca Kolo - March 23, 2008 11:55 PM (GMT)
This is going to be a real test for us. Bolton will be in our faces, hungry and scrappy, I suppose one saving grace for us is that they have lost their edge going forward by selling Anelka and replacing him with Rasiak  but all they have to do is punt the ball up the pitch and they could be in on goal.

Toure de Emirates - March 24, 2008 12:00 AM (GMT)
I actually think next week we will beat Bolton convincingly. I think the team will be back next week and putting pressure on Chelsea and United.

Who do Chelsea and United have next weekend?.

Cripps - March 24, 2008 12:03 AM (GMT)
Boro at the Bridge

Villa at OT

Synergetic - March 24, 2008 02:20 AM (GMT)
This is a good chance to rest a few players ahead of the crucial CL match V Liverpool. Ade, Hleb and Flamini all looked like they could use a break, but I don't know what Wenger will do.

Cripps - March 24, 2008 02:28 AM (GMT)
Almunia

Hoyte Senderos Gallas Clichy

Walcott Cesc Flamini Hleb

RVP Bendtner

The Merse - March 24, 2008 08:21 AM (GMT)
This'd be the kind of game that the likes of Graham and Ferguson would win, and win convincingly, after a big defeat.

However, this is Wenger. Who knows how long this blip will last for?

We SHOULD fare better as the pressure now appears to be off. With a different strike force, we could be in for a surprising away win.

It does make you wonder about the fragility of the mental state at our club nowadays. In the past we've had strong characters but were they already at the club rather than Wenger signings

Da Silva Lining - March 24, 2008 08:48 AM (GMT)
I think AW will go for...

Almunia, Hoyte, Toure, Gallas, Clichy, Eboue, Fabregas, Flamini, Diaby, Van Persie, Bendtner.

Subs - Lehmann, Senderos, Hleb, Walcott, Adebayor.

I want Walcott given a go as well as Bendtner though, in place of Eboue. Nothing other than a win will do as we need to keep the pressure on Chelsea even if the title is up for this season, plus of course if we drop points, even 3rd is looking dangerous. Plus of course we don't want to be heading into the CL game having not won in six domestically. So I think Walcott should start and AW should just go for it from the off.

TheCrazy58 - March 24, 2008 08:52 AM (GMT)
Manuel

Eboue - Toure - Gallas - Clichy

Theo - Fab - Flams - Alex

VanP - Ade

Bench: Jens, Sagna (if sufficiently recovered)/Hoyte, Diaby, Bentdner.

Re. the mental fragility - Quite a lot of it about on this board methinks, never mind the team.

bergstar - March 24, 2008 08:52 AM (GMT)
You're probably right, personally I think we need to shake it up a bit and add more penetration, i'd give Diaby a go in the centre with a remit to drive forward and have flamini behind him. Cesc and the lack of movement around him are too predictable now, we need some drive.

RVP Left Foot - March 24, 2008 10:44 AM (GMT)
Walcott to play, let him run at Bolton, we need pace and crosses
FFS just win
0-1

Alias - March 24, 2008 10:54 AM (GMT)
I'm guessing Roshitsy is out for this?

I can think of 2 defeats which could have destroyed our season earlier in Wengers reign.

The 3-1 losses to Blackburn in 97/98 and Newcastle in 01/02

Both times we went on very good runs after those losses and brought the title home.

Cant see this team doing that :(

It's Up For Grabs Now - March 24, 2008 12:53 PM (GMT)
Got tickets for this, still a massive game to instill some confidence back in the team. This could still be a historic season for us..

Id go with

------------Almunia-----------

Toure--Senderos--Gallas--Clichy

Walcott--Flamini--Diaby--Hleb

------van Persie--Bendtner----

Total Football - March 24, 2008 01:16 PM (GMT)
I can see why people would want Adebayor to be rested, but I think we need his physical presence against Bolton. However, he is clearly very tired, and perhaps a rest will do him good with those massive games against Liverpool coming up.

Walcregas - March 24, 2008 01:34 PM (GMT)
---------Almunia
Toure--Gallas--Senderos--Clichy
-Walcott--Cesc--Flams--Hleb
--------RVP--Bendtner

Give Bendtner a go. Not just because Ade's tired, but because I think I think he should get an opportunity to prove himself. Ade looks like he's getting complacent, and I want him to start having to fight for his place in the team.

Well, I guess I won't be watching the match because I've got work. For once, I'm kinda glad.

Cripps - March 24, 2008 01:39 PM (GMT)
Barring Internet streams, not many will be watching it.

Lets hope for no injuries in the international games this week

nino cesc - March 24, 2008 01:39 PM (GMT)
Is Eboue suspended - got 5th yellow yesterday

Cripps - March 24, 2008 01:43 PM (GMT)
I think we have passed the point where 5 yellows gets a ban for a player so no he wont be banned

Walcregas - March 24, 2008 03:04 PM (GMT)
Didn't Eboue just come back from suspension? And he's already racked up another five yellow cards?? :yikes: That man needs to sort out his attitude.

Cripps - March 24, 2008 03:11 PM (GMT)
Well the last suspension was for a red card

ryankearney - March 24, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
Got my ticket for this game.

Cant wait for it, and lower tier this time!

Can see us getting the goals back and hopefully Ade will get his new hairstyle back!

We played some fantastic football yesterday but RVP looks like hes getting back to his best.

Its a MUST win game, we drop 1 more point its Man U's title to lose imo.

its already man united's title to loose im afraid

friskyanders - March 24, 2008 06:27 PM (GMT)
It will be interesting to see which players he rests before Liverhoof.

Ade I shouldn't wonder - Might as well play Bendy up there I think. If Sagna's not fit I think I'd rather see Eboue there than Hoyte.

Cripps - March 24, 2008 06:29 PM (GMT)
Hoyte for me

It's over already, I cannot see how we could possibly overhaul both Man United & Chelsea.

We're playing for CL glory and 2nd place...that's all.

Youre making it sound like they are both many points ahead of us.

Chavs are 1 point above us and i think we'll finish above them. Doubt we'll catch Mancs though but its not over.

We win at OT and they lose to Chelsea, the 6 point deficit is gone so not over yet

I dont think thats fair, that is not taking into consideration his history at this club at all.

His blips rarely last this long, ie 5 matches without 3 points, and in full, this season has been full of surprises anyway. And nearly all of them in a good manner.

Our record against the other top 3 teams was more consistant and yealded the best results than the others over the past few seasons, so losing to Chelsea wasn't the problem this season.

They have surprised the hell out of all of us this season, and I am sure there will be more to come before the end of play.
