Good choice. Best centre half we've got and he's been class for Man Yoo..

Cripps - March 25, 2008 02:11 PM (GMT)
Even though hes not captain for the Mancs?

He`s been the captain when Giggs and Neville haven`t played

I personally would`ve gone with Terry. Although it is very annoying the way he harasses referees and that. But he`s inspirational for club and country.

Good. Hopefully Terry is never captain for England again.

You could say that about Gerrard when he captained us.

Hes a stand in captain.

Doesnt have the same effect as a permanent captain.

Look at Liverpool. A team full of average players but Gerrard leads them to trophies. Without him, they'd be nowhere near the top 4 or be in 2 CL finals.

Chelsea can manage without Terry cos they are a team full of superstars and Terry doesnt need to do much.

Gerrard does

But surely a stand in like Gerrard would have a similar effect?

Chelski actually have struggled without Terry when he`s been unavailable because he`s their best defender, organiser of the back line, and the single biggest influence at the club. When you watch em, they generally aren`t the same team without him and struggle alot more defensively.

Coca Kolo - March 25, 2008 05:48 PM (GMT)

bergstar - March 25, 2008 07:40 PM (GMT)
Logical choice, probably the only player whose guaranteed a starting place.

TheCrazy58 - March 25, 2008 09:18 PM (GMT)
I don't care who it is as long as it's not Beckham or Terry. Actually it's quite amusing.
