KaiserKolo - April 25, 2008 06:50 PM (GMT)
I assume Cripps will go on the sunday...Real are his 2nd team.

Cripps - April 25, 2008 06:58 PM (GMT)

McNamara That Ghost... - April 25, 2008 07:47 PM (GMT)

They're his first team. :coffee:

RVP Left Foot - April 25, 2008 08:32 PM (GMT)
Apart from Edi , do you think we might have any of our injured players back for this match ?

Marc Overmars - April 25, 2008 08:38 PM (GMT)
probably

maybe villa will make his debut as well

Cripps - April 25, 2008 08:39 PM (GMT)
I think he will.

Cant wait to see him line up alongside RVN and Raul

Czech Out Rosicky - April 25, 2008 09:17 PM (GMT)
robinho will be facing his old club as he runs out in red and white

Cripps - April 25, 2008 09:23 PM (GMT)
As brilliant as that would be, no chace of Real selling the best player in the world at the moment

Synergetic - April 25, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)

Well of course not. He doesn't play for Real Madrid, he plays for Barca - so of course Real are not going to be able to sell him.

Cripps - April 25, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)

BoarderDave - April 25, 2008 10:18 PM (GMT)
Dont know if you lot are just being silly or what but the best player in the world at the moment plays for some unheard of team from up north somewhere, i think they play in a red strip although couldnt be certain.

Seriously though, Quaresma Messi is better than Ronaldo. :ilt:

BoarderDave - April 25, 2008 10:44 PM (GMT)
Based on performance this season i'd have to disagree. Only time will tell if ronaldo can keep up this kind of form but if he can i hope he has alot of off games when they play us.
I will admit i havent watched huge amounts of barca games this season, maybe 7 or 8 but messi has only once made me speachless with his skill. Ronaldo, in my opinion, just offers so much more to united than messi does to barca

Grimandi's Perm - April 25, 2008 10:45 PM (GMT)
At the moment, Ronaldo offers goals, and little else. I actually thought he was a better player last season.

Not a massive amount no. But if you honestly beleive that then its your opinion not shared by many others. Well maybe most madrid fans like yourself will beleive that but most others can see there are more players around the world better than robinho.

Cripps - April 25, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
Then they are foolish.

Absolutely awesome in Reals title triumph this season/

And he has more pressure than either of the other 2 and hes produced.

Well like i said that is your point of view. All i can do is point out some stats to you...

Ronaldo - 42 games, 38 goals, 7 assts
Messi - 33 games, 15 goals, 12 assts
Robinho - 28 games, 14 goals, 6 assts

All those stats are from all games played this season.

So from that what i conclude is that ronaldo does a hell of alot more for united than the other two players do for their respective clubs.

Cripps - April 25, 2008 11:10 PM (GMT)
Says more about Man Utd than it does Ronaldo iafraid

BoarderDave - April 25, 2008 11:16 PM (GMT)
Still it takes an amazing player to be able to put away that amount of goals in the premiership. I would go as far as sayin that had ronaldo not been in this kind of form then united would not be top of the league, it would be us or chelsea. Just like henry use to carry us ronaldo has had a huge impact on them.
Can you atleast admit he has been the best player in our league this season? Or again is that too hard for you? I know it can be difficult to see past the rose tints but sometimes you gotta do it!

Cripps - April 25, 2008 11:19 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah, he is the best player in England without a doubt.

Its only the people who dont watch football outside England though that think hes the best in the world

Fair play for that.

I do watch football around europe, and i have seen robinho a fair amount. Dont get me wrong i would love him to be in our team, he would be an asset for any team in the world. I just dont think he is as good as ronaldo or messi, yet. He certainly has the potential to be a world beater, i just dont think it is there at the moment. Maybe a switch to another team under another manager could do the trick (preferably us)
The stats show this, the fans can see this, heck even pro footballers and jorno's can see this (talkin about the player of year award). He is not as good as them yet. Could be. Not at the moment.

Cripps - April 25, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
Ronaldo probably is better than Robinho at the moment.

Messi isnt.

Last season, this season and the Copa America, Robinho outshined Messi in all 3.

BoarderDave - April 25, 2008 11:34 PM (GMT)
I cant comment on the copa america because i think i only saw perhaps 2 games from it.

As for messi outshining robinho, in your eyes he may have. Again i possibly havent watched enough la liga to be able to tell fully. I am simply goin be stats, the few games i have seen myself and what the sport professionals say.

Well it was nice debating this with you but i'm off to bed now, still not over my jet lag anf im about to pass out. Night cripps.

Ah the old Messi and Rbinho argument...

Robinho couldn't even get into the side for a while, he only came good after the nightclub incident in Rio, after which he was dropped for the league game, and then he came back in a 3-2 win vs. Olympiakos. Many have said he hasn't lived up to his poetntial since his 25 min cameo in a 2-1 win vs. Cadiz on his debut. After he came back from injury, he couldn't displace Robben from the side.

Barca are crap without Messi, ask anyone, he rules that side, all their attacks are basically through him, especially last year. And he comes up with the goods all the time. The reason they're shite is that the rest of their players have no idea how to attack without his help. Messi is better than Robinho, who was marked out of a game by Eboue once...remember that?

But Robinho is amazing too, it's just that Messi is better. But this next season is the one where the best one will show it. Whatever happens, bet that Real will win the title.

Cripps - July 26, 2008 01:02 PM (GMT)
Robinho has been better for the last 2 seasons and also outshone Messi at the copa america.

Difference is, one is Brazillian and therefore good performances are the norm so wont get much press coverage.

The other is Argentinian and they are shite so one when has a good season or so, hes automatically got all the press coverage

Robinho 2006/07: 8 goals, 5 assists
Messi 2006/07: 17 goals, 2 assists

Robinho: 2007/08: 15 goals 12 assists
Messi 2007/08: 16 goals, 13 assists

Messi outshone Robnho over the course of the last two seasons, and just through stats. Robinho is a crucial part of a good side. Messi is the best part of a side that was on its last legs.

Robinho's physical Brazil beat Argentina, because they didn't play the football they are renowned for but bullied Argentina into defeat. It worked though, but Argentina were impressive in the tournament, but Brazil done it on the day, with a powerful display.

In terms of press coverage, it is kind of true, but boths sides did play in the worst ever La Liga in recent memory, but Barca would get more press coverage as they won nothing.

As I said, this season will show who is best, be it Messi or Robinho, who has improved greatly since his arrival in Spain.

Cripps have you got your away end tickets?

That white shirt won't go down well at the Emirates because maybe you don't know this but the home team plays in red.

Robinho was the stand out player in the whole tournament playing with unknowns, players that arent that good whereas Messi played with the Argentinian first team and stunk the place up.
