Title: Fantastic Ribery
Description: Two superb goals against Stuttgart

Ribery is pure class. Another thunderbolt from 25 yards and a cracker of goal after getting rid of the two defenders.
Unbelievable player ! The lad is becoming a super star and Euro 2008 could be his tournament. I don't give a f*ck about the French national team but I must admit that a combo of Ribery and Benzema looks very potent.
How could we miss on such a fantastic player last season is beyond my comprehension ?
Wenger's biggest mistake for sure.
The Emirates Gallastico - April 28, 2008 01:09 PM (GMT)
I was disappointed we didn't get him in the summer too, thought he would do well here.
Ah well, what is done is done. :(

You're right TEG.
I still hope that we may attract Benzema but the price we'd have to pay for him would probably horrify Wenger.

Florent Malouda |
Personally think that Malouda would thrive under Wenger's system - Chelsea's style of play doesn't do him any favours.
If Wenger can get him for cut price in the summer (say 7m or so) I'd go for it.

Hope that doesn't happen but then again I still think that Arjen Robben was one of the best wingers in the EPL (bar his theatrics) but he left for Madrid - Ribery could do liekwise (I know Im talking in future tense)
Czech Out Rosicky - April 28, 2008 04:58 PM (GMT)
ribery went for money - the transfer fee was massive and his wages huge
wenger dallied and ribery did not wait for the better move for his career

I can't wait to see Ribery at Euro 2008. Just like I couldn't wait to see him at WC2006. And boy, what a f disappointment. I'm not holding my breath me old mate.
I hope Franck will prove me wrong and show me he's a star. Sorry but being a star in Le Championnat and the Bundesliga means little these days. It's a bit like looking good in Scotland.

You have a point about the Bundesliga but as regards the WC06, Ribery playeed well. He did not play shit, far from it.
Let's see what he will do against Zenith in the UEFA CUP semi return leg on Thursday ? A great game from him will go a long way to prove my point as this particular game will be a toughie for Bayern.

Look's like I was wrong about Ribery then.

As you know, i didnt want him when he was at Marseille. Would've preferred Malouda as he was a far better player in France and at the World cup where the Spain game apart, Ribery stunk the place up.
He also said he wants to join a CL team than joins Bayern showing hes in it for the money.
We've all seen how crap Malouda has been this season. Ribery would have been worse

We didnt miss, we were never "in for him"
Try and remember he plays for a team that is so much better than the rest its practically the scottish league.

True Flav. It is all relative. Bayern are head and shoulders above the rest of the Bundesliga.
This is why I was mentioning the test he will have on Thursday night against Zenith.
If he is passing it with flying colours, you guys will have to start admitting that he is not crap after all.
On the other hand......
Flava Flav - April 29, 2008 02:33 PM (GMT)
Oh dont get me wrong mate he is a quality player and would have been a good signing if we had gone for him. I was just trying to look at it Objectively.
You could say that Scott Brown is world class cos he scores goals for Celtic...

I've never suggested Ribery is crap, although I think he is well overrated.
He didn't pass the Zenit test with flying colours, but you can't judge a player on one game.
I can't wait to see him at EU2008. Hopefully he's added to his game since WC2006 where he disappointed. Surely that will be a better time to judge the guy?

So Zim and Cripps are polar opposites: Zim thinks every player that doesn't play for Arsenal is brilliant and everybody who does is crap; Cripps thinks everyone who does is brilliant and everyone who doesn't is crap
