Title: Aaron Ramsey
Description: Have we lost out here?

bergkampwonderland10 - May 23, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)
I rate this kid and it's been widely reported that Arsene has been tracking him for over a year. Looks like he's Man U bound now as they just loaned Cardiff City a keeper for a year to sweeten them up.

Nope

Good lord, dont let Syn read this thread.

Synergetic - May 23, 2008 09:46 PM (GMT)
Perhaps. My squire in Cardiff says he could be a very good player in the future. Despite interest from big clubs, he hasn't really performed amazingly well for Cardiff this year - apparently.

Spurs Hate La-Sagna - May 23, 2008 09:48 PM (GMT)
Something Tottenham would do, not a club needing experience and looking to win the c.l.

hmm - have I missed out on something Cripps?

Nope

Good lord, dont let Syn read this thread.

He has a crush on Joe Leadley not Ramsay.

Damn, too late.

Synergetic loves Cardiff probably more so than Arsenal.

Back to Ramsey, never seen him play but heard hes rated at £10m. How can he be rated so high and not start Cardiffs biggest games of their lives?

bergkampwonderland10 - May 23, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
Something about Ramsey (in the few times I've watched him this season) just tells me he could be a great signing.
I remember us being offered Carrick for 3million and us passing it up (granted because Vieira stayed...) but think this kid is worth a gamble - and would improve squad depth.
He is 17 and already looks like a hard worker, good passer and can play anywhere in midfield - great potential.

The guy is 17..he was born in the 90s. We know Wenger doesn't mind throwing youngsters in the deep-end but it seems Dave Jones isn't like that. He probably felt the nerves would get the better of him. He came on on the hour anyway - probably as an impact sub.

Anyway, I'm not sure why he is getting this much interest. He's not the best midfielder at Cardiff - and not even the most promising. It's Liverpool, Arsenal and Man Utd now that have been linked with him and he's expected go for a sizable transfer fee.

Jens' Face - May 23, 2008 10:14 PM (GMT)
darn it! are we losing out to Lyon again?

Wenger, you incompetent!

BBC Sport has confirmed Arsenal as the second team which had a bid accepted by Cardiff City for winger Aaron Ramsey. Despite Manchester United writing an article about the transfer on their official website, the Welsh side have rebuffed claims a deal is done with Alex Ferguson’s side.

So now the Gunners will do battle with the Premiership Champions for his services, and will hold talks with the player himself during the next week. Ramsey must now decide where his future lies, a massive decision for a 17 year old who still lives with his parents

Synergetic - June 4, 2008 12:58 AM (GMT)
Yaaaaaaaayyyy!!!

Jens' Face - June 4, 2008 05:11 AM (GMT)
I don't really care about Ramsey (just b/c I don't know anything about him, not b/c I don't rate him)

but it would surely be satisfying to beat manyoo to his signature

(the only battle we'd've won with them all season)

The Emirates Gallastico - June 4, 2008 06:32 AM (GMT)
That it would. :woohoo: :(

I'm slowly losing interest whether or not we keep managing to sign wonderkids anymore, last year, I probably would've cared, but now it just seems like Wenger has been planning for the future for long enough.

jam tomorrow. Doughnut today

Grebbo - June 4, 2008 04:00 PM (GMT)
Although I'm sure he'll be very impressed with Wenger and the facilities I doubt we've got any chance of signing him.

Most of Wales support Man U and then there's the Giggs factor not to mention Man U are actually winning trophies!

Aaron Ramsey signs for Arsenal
Jun 10 2008 Media Wales

AARON RAMSEY has signed for Arsenal in a £5m deal, it has been confirmed.

Cardiff City chairman Peter Ridsdale this morning said the youngster had decided to join the Gunners, after also receiving offers from Manchester United and Everton.

The Bluebirds also confirmed that the move does not include a loan back for the season and that Arsenal had put up the "best cash offer" for the Welsh wonderkid.

Professor Zim - June 10, 2008 09:01 AM (GMT)
Maybe but he could come good in 3 years....and not the statutory 5 we look for ;) (Dos Santos that is)

On a serious note though, he's a winger right...and we need a few more of those so this isn't so bad really....could be very good.

ralpheroo72 - June 10, 2008 09:24 AM (GMT)
From what I saw in the FA Cup Final, the lad can pass a ball. Only time will tell if he makes it with us, but it would be lovely just to see purple noses' reaction when Cardiff broke the news to him that he chose us :crying:

Alias - June 10, 2008 09:27 AM (GMT)

With Man U,,.. Dos Santos might have a chance to make it at PL. Doubt he will do well with Spuds.

We have bought a player.

This guy is awesome. One of the best in the world in a couple of years. Mark my words

Pleased with this signing - looks a talent.
