| The midfield maestro was given the most important number in the team. The number 10 is traditionally given to the best or most creative players in a side and the Arsenal man will be hoping to pull all the strings for Luis Aragones' side as they hunt for Euro glory in Austria and Switzerland. Most players have kept their numbers but Fabregas and Villa will be waring different digits below their names. The midfielder thus will no longer wear the number 18 which he wore during World Cup 2006. The Catalan midfielder wore the number 8 when he made his international debut two years ago but he will not be able to take it as now it belongs to Xavi. Fabregas would have loved to wear his Arsenal number 4 for La Seleccion but this will be given to Marchena with Ramos waiting to take it in future. The other slight change with the former Barcelona player is that he will have "Fabregas" printed as the name on the shirt rather than "Cesc". Meanwhile Valencia hit-man David Villa will be wearing the number 7 jersey which belonged to Raul. The Real Madrid man was dropped by Aragones and thus his jersey is taken by Villa. The rest of the players keep the same numbers. |
