http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/staffordshire/7441622.stmIf he`s charged and convicted. Surely that`d be the end of his career wouldn`t it. Certainly with Plymouth anyway.
But at the same time he`s only 24, so depending on a possible sentence he may be able to salvage his career.
McNamara That Ghost... - June 8, 2008 12:53 PM (GMT)
Yeah heard about this, obviously, being in Plymouth - all I can say is, what a tosser.
Cripps - June 8, 2008 12:56 PM (GMT)
Whether or not he goes down, his career is over.
How can he or anyone come back when youre responsible for the death of 2 kids?
Mentally he will be gone

:police:
He might have been charged but until a trial has been completed and a verdict pronounced, he cannot be referred to as 'guilty'. That is the law and long may it remain so.
Da Silva Lining - June 8, 2008 06:00 PM (GMT)
He's been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
Get Bendtner - June 8, 2008 06:03 PM (GMT)
OK Coney, he was involved in an incident that led to the tragic death of two kids.
Guilty or not, he is bound to be in a pretty dark place.

Lee Hughes seems to have made a decent go of it again since he got out.

Certainly. But he cannot be called 'responsible' for the incident until the trial has taken place - if we make such posts on this MB, we can be closed down. Don't get me wrong - I think things don't look good for him, but there is a limit to what we are allowed to say.

Coney that is two posts in as many days that I agree with you on :faint: (can't remember the other one)
my sympathies to the family and the pain they are going through but we have basic principles of law (ish, with this ridiculuous detention spell for terror suspects nonsense) and these should be adhered to.
someone suggested that mr brown's policy on terror suspect detention was derived from careful study of the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy :tiphat: (taken from the news quiz apparently).

Well, the laws of chance mean that you are bound to get it right sometimes.

What a surprise.
Alcohol was involved

Well, allegedly ;)
There is also an accusation of lack of insurance.
Of course, we cannot possibly comment on this specific case which is sub-judice.
However, in general, if a person were found to have been so callous as to have no insurance, get pissed and then kill 2 or 3 people then I would have no problem if they were locked up and the key thrown away. Anyone nowadays claiming they do not realise the risks to others of drink driving is talking absolute horseshit and is showing selfishness to an unbelievable degree. If you cannot deal with drink, do not do it. If you can't afford insurance, don't drive. If you cannot recognise your responsibility towards your fellow man (and woman) then you forfeit your rights.

Quite right.
Lock him up.
Or worse, make him stay in Plymouth!
