Title: Mario Balotelli

Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have all been linked with Inter Milan striker Mario Balotelli. (The Times)

Saw no thread about it.

Dont know how much people may have seen of him but i watch Inter quite a bit and this guy shone in the last few weeks of the season.

With Zlatan injured, Inter turned to him rather than far more established strikers such as Crespo or Suazo.

I dont see Inter selling him but id love him here

Synergetic - June 14, 2008 01:49 AM (GMT)
Never heard of him but I would love super Mario at Arsenal.

elreactor - June 14, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
Know nothing about this guy, even his name is new to me.

Balotelli went ahead of Crespo and Suazo? But Crespo is not that good imo (quite overrated); although Crespo is better than Suazo. It wouldn´t be too hard to surpass Crespo´s quality so I can´t be sure Balotelli would be a good signing for us. May try though.

Is Balotelli the new Lupoli??

Cripps - June 14, 2008 02:12 AM (GMT)
No, hes better

As for Crespo, hes old now and nowhere near as good as he once was but still you wouldnt expect a kid to be played ahead of him in a title run in but he was.

Crespos record in Italy is pretty impressive but Balotelli nevertheless got in and did very well.

Not seen too much of Suazo as he hardly played.

Black Magic - June 24, 2008 11:08 AM (GMT)
The kid reminds me of Adriano, very explosive. He won't leave Inter. But it would be interesting to imagine a black Italian playing in England. There's a fair few black Italians coming through, Roma Primavera star Ekotto and Palermo have something like 3 black Italian defenders in their youth team. I Wouldn't be surprised if half od the Azzurri was black in the next couple of years.

Inter won't sell him

MARIO BALOTELLI has hinted he would be interested in a move to West Ham.

The Inter Milan wonderkid was linked with a switch to the Hammers in January.

He has sinced failed to nail down a starting spot and admits he is frustrated at the San Siro.

Balotelli played under West Ham boss Gianfranco Zola when he was assistant boss of Italy Under-21s.

Although a permanent deal for the striker is unlikely, a loan deal could be on the cards for next season.

Balotelli, 18, said: "There were times when I wanted to play and I would have joined a smaller side in a foreign league rather than sitting around on the bench here.

"But that's just normal and it's part of who I am. If I don't get to play then I want to leave.

"If the club agrees and a big team want me in the future then I would be happy to move abroad and try something different."

We have to get him

Marc Overmars - May 29, 2009 06:22 PM (GMT)
I reckon Wenger could mould this kid into a world beater, he's got all the right ingredients from what I've seen.

Ach - May 29, 2009 06:24 PM (GMT)
I love watching this kid play.

Hes going to be some player.

Needs to get away from Mourinho asap though

Inter forward Mario Balotelli believes that some day he will be one of the best players on the planet and Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo will want his shirt, like he had done two years back.

Balotelli also gave his opinion on who is the best player in the world right now, with his preference going towards Barcelona's Lionel Messi.

"Messi is the number one and he will win the Golden Ball," declared the young Inter player to Tuttosport. "No one is like him, not even Ronaldo who is still a phenomenon.

"My squabble with Ronaldo? Things that happen. Two years ago he gave me his shirt, but one day he will ask for mine."

Balotelli then spoke about his point of references and his future at Inter.

"I inspire myself to be like [Zlatan] Ibrahimovic," he explained. "I'm very happy to be at Inter and I don't think about leaving, but if in the future the club will agree and there will be a strong team who wants me, I would be happy to go abroad to try a new experience."

The 18-year-old still has a long way to go before he can hope for Ronaldo to ask him for his shirt, having played just 32 league games in Serie A over the past two season, scoring 11 goals in the process.

Confident in himself isnt he? I like it. waits for inevitable Bendtner comment

fari - May 29, 2009 09:30 PM (GMT)
at 18 years of age he was one of the main set piece takers (penalty, corners, free kicks) for inter this season. his delivery is spot on most of the time. he can run at defenders, play off a main striker, play on the wing (either side), play alone. this guy will be scary in the future. he is a bit cocky but it is the arrogance of youth (i hope). he may well need to go to a smaller team, learn, develop, mature and then move to a big club.

Italy national team coach Marcello Lippi tried to comfort Inter striker Mario Balotelli following the latest racial attack he suffered.

Balotelli was verbally abused by some Roma fans who also threw bananas at him as they tried to make fun of the 18-year-old.

"I tell Balotelli not to have his life affected by some imbeciles," explained the former Juventus coach as quoted by tuttomercatoweb.com. "I don't understand any kind of racism.

"I understand his disappointment, but Balotelli must look around him: he will see wonderful team-mates at Inter and in the Under 21 national team and then his friends and his family.

"He's surrounded by respect, affection and consideration."

This season Juventus had to play a match behind closed doors as their fans allegedly hurled abuse towards Balotelli during the home game against Inter.

In the meantime, Balotelli has had an excellent season, making 22 appearances and scoring eight goals.

Elreactor - June 8, 2009 07:22 PM (GMT)
Would you swap him with Adebayor?

Ach - June 8, 2009 07:23 PM (GMT)
No

KaiserKolo - June 8, 2009 07:30 PM (GMT)
Yeah, respect like Mourinho and Seedorf who deny it was racist abuse (referring to the Juve game).

Mario Balotelli can’t find room at Inter and Arsene Wenger offers him a chance at Arsenal. “He can become one of the greatest.

The Under-21 international has pace, power and technique in abundance, but his questionable attitude has seen him dropped by Jose Mourinho recently.

“I consider Inter an excellent squad who can do really well in the Champions League,” Wenger told the Italian media.

“In particular I am keeping an eye out for Balotelli, a player I like very much. In my view he can become one of the greatest.”

Balotelli was also offered a loan spell in the Premier League by Gianfranco Zola’s West Ham United over the summer.

The teenager is eager to climb into the senior squad in time for the World Cup, so he could well demand a transfer in January to have more playing time if matters do not improve.

Meanwhile, Wenger revealed he finds it difficult to face Serie A sides on the European stage, eliminating Roma last season in a dramatic penalty shoot-out.

“I am glad we did not draw any Italians in the group phase, as your teams are always tactically astute and very difficult to beat.”

According to a respected Italian journalist, Barcelona are among a trio of Europe's elite clubs that are circling around Inter striker Mario Balotelli.

Franco Rossi revealed on his official website that Chelsea, should they be successful in overturning their transfer embargo, and Arsenal are interested in bringing the 19-year-old to England.

Barca coach Pep Guardiola is a big fan of the Lumezzane youth product, Rossi believes, and views him as the ideal candidate to replace Thierry Henry on the left side of the Blaugrana's attacking trident.

'Super Mario' has become much more prominent in the Nerazzurri's squad over the last 12 months and clearly improved as a player as last season went on.

Should any move to Spain come about, the Italian Under-21 international would link up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic again after the Swede switched the San Siro for Camp Nou this summer.

ARSENE WENGER is eyeing £20million-rated Inter Milan star Mario Balotelli.

SunSport understands Arsenal scouts watched the Italy hitman in Inter's 5-0 win at Genoa last weekend, while Gunners boss Wenger is also keen on Ajax's Gregory van der Wiel for £8m.

Balotelli, 19, is highly regarded by Inter boss Jose Mourinho but is behind Gabriel Milito, Samuel Eto'o and David Suazo in the San Siro pecking order.

But he fits in perfectly with the profile of Wenger's young team - and it is no secret that the Frenchman wants to add another frontman to his squad.

Bordeaux's Marouane Chamakh was Wenger's No 1 summer target but the move hit the buffers when the French club blocked his approach.

Balotelli, on the other hand, is understood to be willing to consider a move to London to get more regular first-team action.

In addition, Wenger is tracking Dutch right-back Van der Wiel - having already snapped up Thomas Vermaelen from Ajax for £10m in June.

Van der Wiel, 21, has been capped five times by his country. He has built a reputation as an exceptionally fast defender and a January move is being looked into.

me too!

saw him on the box when I was recently in Italy, doesn't scurry around like Arshavin just seems to jog over to the ball but still gets there before anyone else...

definitely class...but not world yet...could see Wenger licking his lips at turning this guy into something special

this time however Wenger will have to be prepared to pay the asking price and not bulk at it.....if not other teams will snap him up from under our noses or we are going to have to hope for another Jan transfer window extension

tech12 - October 23, 2009 07:28 AM (GMT)
he's a world class arse judging by all the random outbursts over the years. but it does seem like he's mellowed out a bit recently.

great skills though
