Germany doing what should be done to minnows. England, take note. Wales scrape past a Berti Vogts led Azerbaijan who were down to 10 men and had a debutant in goal who apparently had a great game saving a penalty and the rebound somehow as well as many other shots. No sign of Ramsey but Ledley played the whole game and was the worst player on the pitch and was struggling to match the level of Azerbaijan.

He made his name as a winger, but an eye for goal saw Parry used more and more by first Cardiff and then Wales as a striking option. However, despite a good goals-to-games ratio at club level Parry could not repeat that for Wales with his only goal coming in a warm-up match against Canada in May 2004. "I will hold my hands up and say it's bad timing but my feelings are not going to change," he added. "It has always played on my mind and I don't feel I can be part of it for a long time particularly as I've had two good seasons for Cardiff and I feel I have something to offer the squad.
