GW Premiership Fantasy league (The short version)

20 teams in a league all play each other twice

3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss Best team at the end wins

Each team has 15 players 2 GK, 5 Defenders, 5 midfielders, 3 Strikers (To cover injuries)

Goals in real life games means goals in this game (All goals by all players count)

Games will be played over 38 weeks running Saturday to Friday

Players will be bid for but no team can go over its £100mil budget (tbc) highest bid wins the players and that amount will be payable, bids will be done by PM and will be secret. If a players gets two bids the same the posters will re-bid

Transfer windows will be held regularly

Players who leave the premiership in real life will have their paid amount refunded to the team and a “joker” transfer to buy a replacement. New players to the prem will be available from the next transfer window

A cup competition will be run in January in line with the normal fixtures this will include all league 1 and 2 teams

League table will have 20 teams max and will be published weekly, 3 points for a win and 1 for a draw. A fixture list will be put out before the season starts in August. (If I have time I will do a knockout cup in line with the FA cup as well) If we have more than 20 teams we can have 2 leagues. The fixtures will be loosely based on the EPL fixtures so the matches will be mainly weekends but some midweek matches as well.

Each team will be named by the relevant poster and will have 15 players. Teams will play a standard 4-4-2 (Positions don’t matter as long as its 4 defenders, 4 midfielders and 2 strikers) and will have a spare goalie, defender, midfielder and striker in case of injuries. All players in each team will count if they score.

ONLY GOALS COUNT! There is none of the other usual fantasy league stuffs. For example if Rkane is playing Cripps, if one of their team’s player’s scores in real life they get a goal on here and then the results will be published by me each week. (real life fixtures hold no bearing)

Each team will have £100mil (sub ject to change)to spend on the 15. Players are acquired by a bid system and values will be based on another fantasy league thingy that I can cut and paste. Teams will bid for players in continual rounds in the July window to get us going until all the squads are full. Posters can bid as much as they want for a player but MUST NOT exceed the £100mil (If this happens the player will be awarded to the next highest bid) New players that are signed into the premiership will be made available and likewise if players leave the premiership the poster will get their value (Not their bid) back to spend on a replacement. Bids will be made in 100k’s and the actual cost of the player will be the highest bid.

Posters will simply send me there bids for the first round, I will award the players based on bid and then publish another list of how much everyone has left and which players are still available. Rounds will simply continue until all teams have the 15.

3 Transfer windows are held, July being the first and then November and the last in January. July window is to get a team together and then the other two are to swap players you don’t like/Long term injuries/Spurs players. If everyone wants we could have a joker window (like in France) where you can swap one player outside the window.


Things to be aware of

1. If you are going to bid a ridiculous amount for a player, be prepared to pay it. Bidding £60mil for Ronaldo will probably guarantee you get him, however you still have another 14 players to pay for so be careful.
2. 0-0 is a common score due to only having 4 strikers in any one match; don’t get disheartened by this as you still get a point for a draw.
3. These rules won’t change no matter how much whining goes on, and the only prize is bragging rights.
4. Bids for players will not be revealed and only the players’ value will ever be published. (You will just have to trust me)
5. I will be keeping an Excel spreadsheet of who's team, is worth what and their money remaining as well.
6. These rules will proably change as you all point out holes in the,As I will be doing this myself patience is a virtue.

How and when do we get to start bidding for players?

When the first load of fantasy league online thingy's come out i will cut and pastet the player list and use that, the season doesnt start for 6 weeks yet so there is no rush

A few more questions:

1/ Can 1 player appear on other teams? For example say I have Santa Cruz as my striker, but Synergetic does as well, is this allowed?

2/ Are we bidding agaisnt each other for players? and how would that work out? For example - I bid 25 million for Essien, and Synergetic does the same - where does Essien go to or do we both sign him?

3/ Also, how do we bid? Posting our bids on here, or PMing you?

1/ no each player will only be on once

2/ you ARE bidding against each other, if two bids are the same for a player you will be instructed as such and be expected to either up your bid or withdraw

3/ bids will be PM'd t me as it needs to be a secret really, you dont wnat other people knowing and then just outbidding you

So it wont be like the GW FM then.
