Title: Scott Carson
Ramsey's Kitman Nightmares - July 11, 2008 11:27 AM (GMT)
Benitez has signed a new keeper, as understudy to Reina, leaving the door open for Carson to move. Perhaps we should make a move and sign him as understudy to Almunia, leaving us Carson and Fabianski when Almunia leaves?

Marc Overmars - July 11, 2008 11:37 AM (GMT)
Good keeper, better than Almunia IMO.
It's Up For Grabs Now - July 11, 2008 11:44 AM (GMT)
Yes, for less than 5mil which wont be the case..
Cripps - July 11, 2008 12:10 PM (GMT)
Not better than Almunia so no

Not a bad keeper, but I doubt we're in for a keeper anyway.
hleb_on_left - July 11, 2008 12:31 PM (GMT)
not after his crazy gaff against croatia

I suppose Lehmann should never have played for us again after getting sent off in the CL final then?
And David Seaman was shit too, because he got lobbed from the halfway line, let a corner in and let a Ronaldinho free kick float over his head?
Marc Overmars - July 11, 2008 01:05 PM (GMT)
Also worth noting that it was Carson who prevented them being buried long before the 3rd goal.

that was a freak event -- Carson's not too blame.
I think he'd be a great buy for us as second-choice.
But --
he'd likely cost too much, being British and from the scousers to boot
and, what do I know, maybe Wookash is up to being the #2
Toure de Emirates - July 12, 2008 08:32 AM (GMT)
I'd still take him despite his mistakes. If it was a cheap deal though, but seeing as it's Liverpool they'll try to get as much money as possible from us.
tigerthesmurf85 - July 12, 2008 09:38 AM (GMT)
Would've said yes before this season. But now no.
bergkampwonderland10 - July 14, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
Looks like he's off to Stoke!!! for 4million. I rate him and think he'd give Almunia serious competition.
Cripps - July 14, 2008 08:26 PM (GMT)
We'll see how good he is this coming season.
No doubt he'll be busy
Rors - July 14, 2008 08:34 PM (GMT)
Yep, off to Stoke for 4mill. That is after Liverpool quoted 8mill(minimum) for us to take him permanently. Makes you wonder...
McNamara That Ghost... - July 14, 2008 08:42 PM (GMT)
Guess he isn't too bothered where he gets first team action...so long as he does get first team action!
lucas_priest - July 14, 2008 09:29 PM (GMT)
At the £4M Stoke have been quoted yes. At anything above £5M, no thanks.
bergkampwonderland10 - July 14, 2008 09:42 PM (GMT)
Ok so if Almunia decides to get injured we have Fabianski and Mannone right? hmmm
Not sure the younger two are quite ready for a full season if called upon.
Carson for 4 million looks a bargain.

wasnt really a serious post, im a keeper myself for my university team and have made a few mistakes
The Emirates Gallastico - July 15, 2008 06:26 AM (GMT)
That's because you're not that good...
Ramsey's Kitman Nightmares - July 15, 2008 10:07 AM (GMT)
I'm suprised bigger clubs haven't moved for him at the quoted £4m. I'd go for this- decent back-up with the potential to improve and become England's No.1.
gooner67 - July 15, 2008 12:44 PM (GMT)
I think he's worth £4mill, bet the price to us would be higher though!
