Is there any way to embed things like videos on GW? Youtube videos have a script for embedding videos onto webpages so I was wondering if the same could be done here.

It can be done, but only if the embedding option is enabled in the Admin CP I think.

I think we could allow it, wouldn't be a great idea though in case people put malicious code in a post.
YouTube videos can always be linked to if you want to show people something.

Also, if you use a link rather than embed it, we don't end up with multi-megabyte long pages which those with slower links will find totally kills GW for them. :good:
(It's one of the reasons I think mods should be more strict and pro-active on avatars and sigs - other boards apply a strict size limit - say 250KB or so, and maybe limit the display size to a quarter of a screenfull at 1024x768 - if you need more you are a sad bastard. Personally, my link at home usually gives me 5Mb+ and at work even more, but I am sure there are people out there with slower links and even dial-up who might find it a frustrating experience.)

If there's one which is very big (particularly in file size) then we do.
I don't see it as big a problem as you clearly do if people have large images - there is a line but my thoughts about where that is are obviously different from yours.
If there's one you object to then report it or PM one of us and if we agree it's too big we'll do something about it.
