Title: Barazite Joins Derby County On Loan

anfield 1989 - August 19, 2008 02:06 AM (GMT)
Young Guns has learnt that Arsenal have allowed free-scoring Dutch forward Nacer Barazite to leave London for Championship outfit Derby County on loan.

Barazite has been strongly linked with a switch to Spanish link club UD Salamanca, but after they confirmed Håvard Nordtveit as their second loanee from Arsenal, Nacer has been given the chance to show of his tremendous talents in the Championship.

The Dutch flyer - already a Holland Under 19 International - scored 20 goals in all competitions for the Gunners Reserves & Youth sides last season, and scored two in as many games for the first team over pre-season.

Winning goals against Barnet and Huddersfield Town coupled with a strike away to Rushden has seen his stock rise, but the 18 year old will not be given the opportunity to play more Carling Cup football, however will gain crucial experience with the relegated Premiership side.

Paul Jewell admitted last year he would be keen to snap up any potential young starlets, and after jumping the queue ahead of the likes of Birmingham and Norwich - Derby have signed arguably the most exciting young forward in the country.

The elegant Dutchman left London this afternoon to agree personal terms ahead of the switch, with the fleet footed winger hoping to help County back into the Premiership during the coming season.

------

Young Guns is virtually always right when it comes to this sort of stuff.

Would have loved him to hook up with Gibbs and go to the promotion hopefuls Reading too, but Derby will toughen him up in a hard league. Any sort of competitive experience here in england will be good.

Last remaining question is whether Merida will go out on loan. Again I'd love him to go to a decent playing Championship side for a full season to get competitive footie. Randall and Lansbury need to prove themselves in the CC if they are to show their worth.

:(

Would have preffered him going to Stoke or Hull or somewhere in the Prem, but aslong as he gets games it'll be a good exp for him.

It is good that he can probably beef himself up by staying in England. I would like to see the new Pires coming though the rank next season. He looked really sharp in the preseasons.

My main worry is that Derby will be dogshit, which means Barazite may struggle in a poor team. He's one of the better players in our reserves anyway..

Uh oh, remember what happened to the last guy who went to Derby.........

:good:

Would have preferred him at a PL club, but first team footy week in week out can't do him any harm I guess.

he looked good in the reserves, hope derby isn't the first part of the lupoli path for him though.

has the makings of a good player, just shows the quality of our academy/youth/reserve team set up!! we have provide a number of clubs now we the kind of players they would be lucky to find themselves for royal sum of zilch!

some of come back and a lot of stayed, Birmingham definitely got their money's worth!

good luck to the boy!

by the way, is Ryan Smith still there, haven't heard much of him, have we?

Great oppurtunity for him to get some experience and get toughened up a bit.

Should get at least 10 games as Paul Jewell constantly changes his line ups.

Barazite started his first game for Derby with 2 assists, not bad at all. If he keep himself fit, he will get plenty of games. :coffee:
