Right, I'm trying to update my Avatar to a JPEG image which is 4KB but it's not updating as it reverts back to my current Avatar image, help, can I change it please?

re avatar have you got it hosted on imageshack/photobucket or suck like as it needs to be hosted to work :good:

Ah right IT, perhaps that is where I am going wrong! Hang on, but surely you can upload it from your PC locally, it states it as an option! That is how I got my last avatar uploaded.

we also have an Arcade section but that don't work either ;) give the hosting a try :good: that or it's just too big?

Mods, why have an option to upload personal files from your PC if it doesn't work?? P.S. The image was the right size and was well under the file size limit but it didn't work!

Your avatar must be no bigger than 130 pixels by 130 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 25 KB.
See if you can spot the problem...

Your avatar must be no bigger than 130 pixels by 130 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 25 KB.
See if you can spot the problem...

now I'm not an expert in maths... but I think 4kb is less than the 25kb limit??

He was wrong.
Right click the image, save, check the size...
(in Firefox right click and properties gives you the file size)
EDIT: Meh. OK. It seems like the image he *was* tying to use as his Avatar isn't the one he is using now. But the one he's using now is over the file limit.
I don't know what the other image was of course. If he wants to post it then I can see why it didn't work.

Thanks for the advice Letters but I was aware of the file size limit, admittely one of them was over the pixel size limit but another JPEG file I had was 124x119 and was only 4KB.
Thanks anyway but it doesn't matter now as I'm happy with what I have - it was just a pain in the arse at the time and I was getting annoyed but I'm a happy user now!!
