I think it's going to come to an end with or without this thread. Anyway, their next league game isn't for over a week now.

Ask again, after Gomes has clattered him in training.

He has equalled the alltime record incidentally - held by some player from last year with Derby.

JackTheLad19 - April 13, 2009 12:54 PM (GMT)
Ok I'm not sure how but apparently this is still going, mind you he has been an unused sub a few times so I suppose Redknapp's seen sense...

McNamara That Ghost... - April 13, 2009 12:59 PM (GMT)
Yup it's still going, the wins against Stoke and West Ham he was an unused sub.

when he came on in the 86th minute today, you could see Fergie relax. He knew for sure then that the spuds weren't coming back

McNamara That Ghost... - April 25, 2009 09:01 PM (GMT)
'Arry must have done it just to dent his confidence even more.

Just checked - they had two subs in hand as well. They were trying to protect a 1-0 lead though, so that's probably why they didn't use him.

:pal: @ Bale

Just to update - the Bale Fail continued on Sunday as he started, and inevitably they lost, at Liverpool.

24 Premier League matches without a win.

McNamara That Ghost... - May 26, 2009 05:15 PM (GMT)
The Spuds have to keep him for next season!

The Emirates Gallastico - May 26, 2009 05:17 PM (GMT)
I remember when we were linked with him for around 11m.

Every single player we and then Spurs are linked to that goes to them ends up being total shite. :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

Jens' Face - May 26, 2009 06:00 PM (GMT)
this is a good place to review Arsenal players and their spud bizarro versions:

Ramsey - fine young prospect
Bales - has not a won a game for 3 years or something

Vela - superlative young prospect
Giovanni Dos Santos - long ago sucked into a black hole of crap, from which even crap cannot escape. Most likely lost forever.

Kolo - admittedly, he has his problems
Zokora - but he's got worse

Eboue - no longer a negative :woohoo:
Chimbonda - no longer a spud. But still a negative. (btw, sold to raise dosh for David Bentley.)

Theo - England international at age 20.
Lennon - still hasn't cured his weird eyebrow mange at age 22.

Sagna
Kaboul

Eduardo - Modric. <_< Wait till next season.

Ach - May 26, 2009 06:02 PM (GMT)
Chimbonda is a Spud

Couldn't keep up the enviable record of spending an entire two seasons of football in the bottom half, but this is a very good second place

Although tbh, Theo could never live up to Lennon's little gay right arm.

That's the sign of a genius.

Err has anybody seen the piece on SSN today involving former Spuds players? They're already thinking about overtaking us next season, ffs, don't they ever engage their brains?!

At the end they show the 4-4 draw and the reporter then says "...and already proved to Tottenham's north london neighbours, they're back in contention.

MARTIN JOL is ready to rescue Gareth Bale from his Tottenham nightmare.

The Dutchman signed Bale for £5million from Southampton in May 2007 during his reign as Spurs boss.

But the Welsh left-back has struggled with injuries and is yet to be on the winning side in the Premier League — despite making 24 appearances for the Londoners.

And Ajax coach Jol believes leaving White Hart Lane would be a wise move for the 20-year-old.

He said: "He is at a great club but he has got to be playing football because that is the only thing that will help him get better.

"It might be that going abroad is the best thing for him because it could help get his confidence back.

"When he was a young kid he was brilliant at free-kicks and corners. It would be a shame if that talent was to go to waste.

"People might have doubted he was ready when I signed him.

"But I was confident he had the talent and that he would become one of the best players in Europe in his position.

"I still think that could be the case.

"It might be that a lot was expected of him at a young age but he had the talent back then and he has still got it."

JackTheLad19 - July 24, 2009 08:16 PM (GMT)
Wow forgot about this record. Not sure why 'Arry didn't put an end to it last season by subbing him on for 2 seconds. Probably scared he'd fcuk a lead up...24 games

McNamara That Ghost... - September 26, 2009 04:10 PM (GMT)

Ach - September 26, 2009 04:11 PM (GMT)
