I have an unbeaten record... Arsenal has never lost when I started a thread. Though we might get eliminated due to the away goals rule!! :yikes:

Marc Overmars - April 7, 2009 10:59 PM (GMT)
I'm bricking it.

So often we've chocked in Europe when the odds are seemingly in our favour. Don't let us down lads.

Ach - April 7, 2009 11:00 PM (GMT)
Whens the last time we lost a home game in Europe?

Marc Overmars - April 7, 2009 11:01 PM (GMT)
Umm Inter 0-3?

Ach - April 7, 2009 11:02 PM (GMT)
Cant be that.

We lost to Chavs the same season

have we lost at home since?

Dont think we have. Certainly not in the knock out round but cant remember the group games

Marc Overmars - April 7, 2009 11:03 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah. Must be the Chavs.

I try to block that memory out.

Syn - April 7, 2009 11:06 PM (GMT)
Don't think we'll lose in 90 mins, but I wouldn't be surprised if it went the distance. 1-1's a pretty likely scenario. After that, we'd better hope luck's on our side again.

LettersIsBoss - April 8, 2009 06:22 AM (GMT)
No chance Villarreal will shut us out at home.

SPAIN star Santi Cazorla is confident Villarreal can knock out Arsenal.

The Gunners scored a crucial away goal as they drew 1-1 in their Champions League quarter-final first leg last night.

And midfield mastro Cazorla, who missed the match through injury, believes his side can make it through to the semis.

He said: "It was a shame but we still have our chances.

"The tie is open and although the scoreline favours them, we've already shown that we are capable of scoring away from home.

"The first half was ours, we controlled the ball and we got ahead but in the second half they were better."

Villarreal midfielder Marcos Senna scored with a stunning long-range strike early on.

And he said: "Arsenal have the advantage because they have scored an away goal but by winning there we will be in the semi-finals."

Villarreal president Fernando Roig added: "The tie remains open and we have our chances.

"The result means we have to score at least once in London but we always go out to win so although it's difficult, the tie is open.

"These are the Champions League quarter-finals and everything is open, as has happened with Manchester United, who had been clear favourites against Porto

Surely not losing at home in 5 years is some kind of CL record?

Villarreal coach Manuel Pellegrini has named midfield duo Cani and Mati Fernandez in a 20-man squad for this week’s Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal.

Both Cani and Fernandez missed Saturday’s 2-0 league defeat to Malaga through injury but will travel to London as Villarreal look to keep alive their European dream after being held 1-1 at home by the Gunners in last week’s first leg.

Also named in the squad is teenage midfielder Jordi Pablo as Pellegrini keeps his options open for the match, but the Yellow Submarine must do without two of their key players as Spain internationals Marcos Senna and Santi Cazorla are injured.

Captain Senna was ruled out of Wednesday’s match after suffering a hamstring injury late on against Malaga, while Cazorla is out for the next three months after breaking his leg during the recent league game with Almeria.
