Just wondering if anybody is interested in Hockey?

Sergei Fedorov
If i could remember anyone else from the Detroit Redwings when i used to be them in NHL computer games, then id praise them as well

What is this Hockey you talk about?
KaiserKolo - April 16, 2009 09:28 AM (GMT)
Wayne Gretzky is the only player I know - having never seen him and not knowing how to spell his name...

Great stuff!
Super shoot-out goals that were far superior to those in the All-star Game shoot-out competition and that save by Kipper!
Magic!

Yeah there have been some great highlights this year, Ribero has some slick hands but he is too much of a prick and only shows up when he feels bothered.
Gary, your a Flames fan correct?
Had to edit this cuz the game wasnt over, Chicago tied it up. OVertime perhaps.
DO you think they will do Chicago in?

The fastest and most agressive sport there is.

He still plays but for the Washington Capitals.
The Redwings are still one of the best if not the best team around.
They always have balance and depth, always scout and draft young players well

I am indeed a Flames fan.
As for how they will do, too many injuries (hmm just thought I may be a jinx) and terrible mismanagement of the salary cap means I think they will be out in the first round.
Being able to dress only 15-17 players for the last 8-10 games because they couldn't call players up from the minors cost them their 3rd place seeding so they ended up away against a team they have not managed to beat all season and in fact got beat by 3 or more goals in 3 games.
I know the cap doesn't matter in the play-offs but it is unrealistic to expect those now called up to gel, particularly when those that have been playing regularly are not gelling. I just read that Keenan is splitting the Iginla Jokinen line because it aint working. What an awful time to be trying to work out who you play on your top 2 lines!
In game one we had the game in our control but then crawled into a defensive shell in the third and it cost us. So thre factors; injuries, mentality and a realisation that we are not as talented as we thought we were mean that we are unlikely to progress past the Hawks and talk of the Cup now seems like a joke.
I just hope the Habs can somehow get their act together.

I live in Toronto but I am like a woman scorned with the Leafs. I supported them for years and years when i was younger. I gave them my all and now i cant stand them.
During those years I followed Mark Messier as he was my favorite player so when he was in Vancouver I started to become a fan of them and that carried on with Bertuzzi and Naslund and now the Sedins.
Yeah I have to agree with you on the Joikenen and Iginla. Do you think that trade ruined the chemistry of the squad? I thought the Iggy, Conroy, Cammaleri line was fantastic.
I see they won last night so hopefully they will get on a roll now. Another thing whats going on with Phaneuf? From what Ive seen he has had a poor year by his standards.
Ah yes the Habs, they are finished. Boston has a very good team this year.
Gary the Gooner - April 23, 2009 07:04 AM (GMT)
Just finished watching Game 4. What a Series! The Flames/Hawks have definitely produced the best play-off hockey so far - it could go to 7.
I do think there was an effect on chemistry with changes made in lines that were working well. That said, Iginla played a real Captain's game today and Oli really hustled and forced Chicago errors and it paid off big time with 2 goals each.
I taped it and got up at 6 am to watch it and am nearly hoarse going into work today.
As for Phaneuf, he has had a total stinker of a season. When you are a "star player" on a Division leading team (as he was) and have are Minus 13, something is VERY wrong.
Congrats on the Canuks sweep!
I know what you are saying about TO, but they have been awful for most of my life. My earliest memories watching HNIC was thinking how unfair it was that just about every week, the Leafs had to play the last minute and a half without a goalie and the opposing team would nearly always stick on in the empty net!
I was that young I honestly couldn't figure out what was going on!

Did anyone see that hit by Ovechkin on Gonchar last night?
I think it was intentional, but I don't think he wanted to hurt him that bad. I can't see Gonchar coming back anytime soon.
