Title: Man Utd v Arsenal
Description: 16th May
Ach - May 10, 2009 04:58 PM (GMT)
Mancs can win the title here.
More importantly, Arshavin should be back
Alias - May 10, 2009 04:59 PM (GMT)
We're going to roll over and hand them the league. LOL
Marc Overmars - May 10, 2009 05:00 PM (GMT)
I think this will be a walk over tbh, especially if the Mancs score first.
As soon as Alex scored today we brought out the white flags.

I don't think there is any case for us winning or drawing tbh.
It's their title party, and we're certainly not going to be allowed to spoil it.

Depends on whether we take our 'score one, get three free' heads with us.

makes no diffrence if we spoil it they would only draw with hull and win the league.
Gooner4Life84 - May 14, 2009 11:30 AM (GMT)
Would be funny as fu*k if we spoiled their party n got the 3 points :D Sadly i don`t think that`ll be the case. I reckon it`ll be a draw. 1-1 or 2-2. Would be absolute agony to see them win the title against us :( It would be like Bullseye (gameshow from back in the day)..
"Look at what you coulda won.."
Marc Overmars - May 14, 2009 11:32 AM (GMT)
As long as the score is respectable that's fine by me.
bergstar - May 14, 2009 02:21 PM (GMT)
I think we could do with salvaging some respictability, they need a point. Play out a 1-1 draw I say
JackTheLad19 - May 14, 2009 02:39 PM (GMT)
Arshavin is back, Almunia may be back for the Stoke game but other than that nothing else.

Man Utd v Arsenal (1245 BST)
United can win the league by getting a point. If they don't at Old Trafford, then they've got the cushion of going to Hull and having another chance to get a draw.
However, I expect them to tie up the league this weekend.
Arsenal are a good footballing team, but they lack direction and lack, what I would call, strong characters.
Verdict: 2-1

Was kinda hoping Wigan would hold out after scoring yesterday and then we could go and take the title out of Man U's hands at OT...that would have been sweet. As it is, we should probably just go out there and play, no pressure, no expectations and see what we can do.

Wayne Rooney is determined to help Manchester United seal the Premier League title against Arsenal this Saturday.
The Red Devils know a point from the Old Trafford contest would be enough to hand them a third consecutive top flight crown after Sir Alex Ferguson's men moved to the brink with a 2-1 win at Wigan on Wednesday.
Nothing would give United greater pleasure that landing the trophy on home soil, while they will also be keen to secure success against one of their major rivals.
Arsenal fans have never let their United counterparts forget that they secured the title at the Theatre of Dreams in 2002, with a Sylvain Wiltord effort handing them a memorable 1-0 win.
That has helped to add an extra dimension to the latest meeting between the old adversaries, with Rooney helping to stoke the fire ahead of what promises to be an enthralling encounter.
"One point will win the title for us. Hopefully that can come on Saturday," he said in the Evening Standard.
"It would be brilliant to do it in front of our own fans and brilliant to win it against Arsenal, who are a great footballing team.
"When they come to Old Trafford you always hear them singing about winning the title at Old Trafford, so it would be nice to win against them. That would be special."
He added: "We want to win it in front of our own fans, I think the manager's said we've only done that once in 17 years. And to win it three years on the run would be amazing."

Marc Overmars - May 14, 2009 04:23 PM (GMT)
I'd laugh if we're drawing and they start engraving their name on the trophy.
Then we score a winner.
A few manc mates of mine are talking like this is revenge for 2002, hardly. What would be revenge is if we're reigning champs and they came to our place and beat us.
Eddy-Don't call it a comebac - May 14, 2009 10:19 PM (GMT)
winning at their own place will not beat going to your rivals and winning the league that was so often theirs
this team really can show what it really wants
to stop your rivals beating you and winning the title on the same day should be incentive enough but we shall see if these players really want to so that
Syn - May 14, 2009 10:37 PM (GMT)
Is it sad that the only reason I'm interested in this game is because Arshavin's playing?
Don't get me wrong - any Arsenal game's worth watching, behind the team through thick and thin and all that...but still...it counts for f'ck all.
Coca Kolo - May 14, 2009 10:40 PM (GMT)
Meh. I doubt I'll even watch the game.
Marc Overmars - May 14, 2009 10:41 PM (GMT)
I'm not even sure if I'll watch, in fact I don't want to watch it, but it's my team so I'll stick with them to the bitter end.

Gather round children I have a story to tell.
The only game I've ever seen whilst eating Curry was actually an Arsenal - Man Utd game.
Twas the game at the Emirates where we came from behind to win in the last 10 minutes with RVP and TH14 scoring the goals.
Dinner was halfway through the 2nd half but I knew we'd come back in the game so I just took my plate into the living room and watched the match whilst eating my dinner.

Im actually torn of who i want to win this game etc, I want us to win because it would be funny to stop the mancs, but i dont want us to win for wenger to say the squad looks good lol.
Syn - May 14, 2009 11:13 PM (GMT)
He'll say that whatever happens. That's why the 'greater good' arguments don't make sense, imo. Arsenal to win everytime. :good:
But we won't win. :good:
But we'll get a draw. :good:
That way everybody wins - the mancs get their title, and we can leave with a respectable result. :good: :good:
