thought that for a while too - will load up on the 7-0 & 7-1 type bets. £1 each on the top 7 or 8 of them between 200/1 - 500/1 each. Quite confident as I'm sure we'll rack up a few & hopefully they'll be on holiday already.
Will need a good, attacking team though. With next season in mind I'd like to see:
.............Mannone
Toure, Song, Silvestre*, Gibbs
Arshavin, Ramsey, Cesc, Wilshere
.......Walcott, Van Persie
Subs: Almunia, Coquelin, Merida, Bischoff, Vela, Bendtner, Rosicky
*=farewell match.
Not sure how that fits in with Wilshere in the youth final, if not put Vela in. Have a look at Toure at RB as cover for next season & give Rosicky that last 30 seconds.

Play the strongest team available

But I don't think there's been a point this season where we've ever known what that is. Ask 10 people on here, you'd get 10 answers. I'm not sure RVP would be in it - more likely not if Eduardo was fit.
That's pretty strong, Sagna's not playing well at the mo, I'd maybe play Almunia I suppose as he's had a good year.
Ach - May 17, 2009 07:29 PM (GMT)
Id go for
Almunia
Sagna Toure Djourou Gibbs
Theo Denilson Song Nasri
Ade Arshavin
In Lehmanns Terms - May 17, 2009 07:59 PM (GMT)
I'd just chuck a load of young-uns' on and cut our losses to avoid any injuries etc.

The real question is which of our players will have his leg/ankle/knee broken by some hopeless clogger in a nothing tackle in a nothing game?

Ach - May 20, 2009 12:48 PM (GMT)
Last game of the season, why not?
Theres no game after this to rest them for and if i was really mean, hope Cesc and Theo get a knock which means they miss the respective tournaments this summer and have a football free summer.
Also just put in a convincing performance in our last home game of the season and just have a feel good factor around the place.
RVP Left Foot - May 20, 2009 03:09 PM (GMT)
Hope we sing "One Arsene Wenger" thru out the whole match.

RYAN SHAWCROSS has blasted Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger for calling him a thug.
The 6ft 4in Stoke defender was the target of the Frenchman’s fury after the Gunners’ 2-1 away defeat on November 1.
Wenger was livid about Shawcross’ challenge that put Emmanuel Adebayor out of the game and went public with his criticism.
But former Manchester United trainee Shawcross, 21, was just as furious at Wenger’s outburst.
And, ahead of Sunday’s rematch between the two sides, he said: “It’s not nice when somebody calls you a cheat, a bully or a thug.
“I have only been shown three or four yellow cards this season and so I cannot be that much of a dirty player.
“It wasn’t that bad a challenge against Arsenal that day — and people forget Adebayor’s challenge on me which was just as tasty.
“I will just go down there and try to prove I’m a good player and, like everybody else, will try to play well in front of a good team.”

Rookie goalkeeper Vito Mannone could be handed a first-team debut on Sunday when Arsenal complete their Premier League campaign against Stoke City at Emirates Stadium.
Lukasz Fabianski is rated as 50:50 because of a knee problem while first-choice stopper Manuel Almunia is definitely out with an ankle injury. Therefore Mannone may take the gloves.
The 21-year-old Italian has never featured in the first-team under Arsène Wenger and his only League experience is four games on loan at Barnsley back in 2006.
Samir Nasri (knee) is definitely out but, apart from that, Wenger will choose from the same squad as the one that drew at Manchester United last weekend.
“We have a problem with our goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, who has a problem with his knee,” Wenger told Arsenal TV Online on Thursday. “Vito Mannone might get a call-up. But we still have to assess Fabianski. He is 50:50 for the game at the moment. “Nasri has patella tendonitis and is out for the weekend. Apart from that, everyone from the Man United game is OK.” |
McNamara That Ghost... - May 21, 2009 03:44 PM (GMT)
I wonder if this thread will get less replies than the Premier League games thread.
As for the game itself, any win will do. Even after another dissapointing season it's nice to win the last one. At least that way I won't be in a bad mood until July.

Possibly. I won't be looking for any streams or coverage for this, I'll be getting the  ready for the relegation battle.
JackTheLad19 - May 21, 2009 04:53 PM (GMT)
We might see Mannone in goal this Sunday, Wookash is 50-50. Nasri also out.
Eddy-Don't call it a comebac - May 21, 2009 05:52 PM (GMT)
nasri has tendonitis, that is what has put hargraves' career in jeapordy
i hope it really is just minor
KaiserKolo - May 21, 2009 06:03 PM (GMT)
Hope people don't pressure Mannone or knock him down. Stoke are a huge test for any keeper in terms of the aerial battle.
Ach - May 21, 2009 06:06 PM (GMT)
Bendtner better play and score.
Hes been named captain for my FFL team

Is there a bigger indication of faith in any Arsenal player?
I don't think so.

 the OS and Wenger didn't seem to make much of an issue out of it, then again that happened with Rosicky as well, jeez man that's slightly unnerving
Though he's got the whole summer to recover from it, if it is a big one.

Arsenal v Stoke
Arsenal are only a couple of good players away from becoming a big problem for the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea next year and will comfortably win this one.
Stoke have had an excellent first-season in the Premier League and fully deserve to stay-up.
Verdict: 2-0

Adebayor ruled out.
Wonder if he'll come on at the end at say his farwell's. He should do (unless he chickens out) but I guess the whole squad will unless they cancel it completely.
