Title: GW premier league football 09/10
Description: Official Rules

Flava Flav - June 4, 2009 08:36 AM (GMT)
Season

There are 2 leagues of 20 teams with everyone playing each other twice, 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw and 0 for a loss. Whoever has the most points at the end wins. (If it’s a tie it will be GD then goals for, then results between the teams in question)

The fixtures are done in “Gameweeks” (1-38) and are decided by the Barclays fantasy league fixtures and will not change.
Goals are scored when a player from your squad scores in real life and only goals count. A goal will be removed from your team if one of your players scores an own goal (If your team don’t score you will stay on “0”)
There will be a league cup and FFA cup run as before and these are in line with the goals system but drawn randomly from both leagues.

League one is not above league 2 as such as all teams are entered randomly.

Squads

Each team will have a 15 player squad, 2 goalies, 5 defenders, 5 midfielders and 3 strikers. Each team will start with a budget of £100mil, although this will increase during the season. Players will be acquired through the biding process (See below)

Any team overspending will have their most expensive player taken from them and put back into the pool.

Bidding

Each manager will submit bids for players, via pm in secret, based on their individual value, the values and positions are as in the Barclays fantasy league.

There will be rounds of bidding (usually over 4 week long rounds) so there is plenty of time to fill up your squad. The price listed is the minimum price of that player. There is no maximum bid but see the above point about overspending.

The highest bid for each player at the end of a round wins that player and that amount is charged to the team.

Any squads with players missing at the end of a transfer window will be filled by the FFA. Players who leave the premiership will simply have their cost refunded back to the team.

There will be 4 transfer windows, the normal 2 and 2 more; these will be announced in this section.

Things to be aware of -

1. If you are going to bid a ridiculous amount for a player, be prepared to pay it. Bidding £60mil for Ronaldo will probably guarantee you get him, however you still have another 14 players to pay for so be careful.
2. 0-0 is a common score don’t get disheartened by this as you still get a point for a draw.
3. These rules won’t change no matter how much whining goes on, and the only prize is bragging rights.
4. Bids for players will not be revealed and only the players’ value will ever be published. (You will just have to trust me)
5. I will be keeping an Excel spreadsheet of who's team, is worth what and their money remaining as well.
6. These rules will probably change as you all point out holes. As I will be doing this myself patience is a virtue.

Any questions should be directed to Flavs by PM or on the relevant thread in here.

New for this year

All goalies have had their values defaulted to 4million. As they have no bearing on the game and are just their to achieve balance.

Own goals will now count against your team so if one of your players scores an oggie the opposing team will be credited a goal!
