Title: South American Club Football Thread...
Description: Brazil, Argentina, Wonderkids, Elreactor

Post any stuff from South America club football here.
Stupid stories like that Boca player Viatri stealing scissors and hairspray from a barber shop, or Ronaldo's second wind. Promising young players etc
Tiger can maybe post stuff about Sao Paulo too.
El, while smoking weed, could do the same about his god Maradona.
:scarf:

Watch Huracan players, Pastore and Di Federico. Wenger should also keep an eye on Velez Sarsfield, seriously. Forget about the Boca and River crap, they inflate their twatsī prices.
Itīs time to sign GK Fabian Assmann, a decent one, who plays for Independiente ( :loveblush: , <_< ) and is the partner of about 20 idiots who have made his price go down to a level in which Arsenal could easily get him.
Anyway, many of the good argentine youngsters, whatever their position, were already taken by other clubs, and it seems Wenger doesnīt count Argentina amogst his scouting regions so we shouldnīt worry much about it. Any promising youngster, if argentinian, will surely probably go elsewhere, no matter how good they are.
KaiserKolo - June 21, 2009 05:17 PM (GMT)
But we can pick up the next Nelson Vivas, right?
Elreactor - June 21, 2009 05:19 PM (GMT)
How old was he when he played for Arsenal?? He wasnīt a youngster, was he?
KaiserKolo - June 21, 2009 05:22 PM (GMT)
Elreactor - June 21, 2009 05:25 PM (GMT)
Yes he was about 29-30.
But I donīt remember Youngsters going straight from the Argentine league to Arsenal (at least under Wenger, which is as far as I can go), even when some of them go for prices which would be cheap for Wenger himself. I also discard this happening in the ī80s.

Of course, Letīs Face It, itīs not that there are thaaaat huge bunch of incredibly outstanding young talents round here...

Paletta went straight from a smaller club (Banfield was it?) to Liverpool and failed to adapt. I think they should go to a big side in Argentina or on the continent and play in the Copa Liberadores before moving to Europe.
That Pastore kid looks promising though, based solely on a few highlights...
Ach - June 21, 2009 05:38 PM (GMT)
Arsenal are the best team in South America tbh

I donīt think it is necessary for them to play for the corrupt big clubs here, just buy them young enough and make them adapt with CL and so on, Wenger can do that more than anyone else. If weīve got a young Denilson, we can have any youngster.
The thing is some people say they leave too young, well I think thatīs just an excuse to give time to the "bigs" here and get them, then sell them the following year and getting all the profit. Buy them young before they go the Boca and River I say. :good:

http://thestar.com.my/sports/story.asp?fil...0415&sec=sportsTwo people were shot dead and four others were injured in a clash between football hooligans following a 3-0 victory by Buenos Aires club Huracan over Arsenal, a victory which gave Huracan the lead in the Argentina football standings.
Bloody Hell.
El, what have I told you about handling a gun when you're off your head on crack?

Copa Libertadores Final in 39 minutes.
Cruzeiro-Estudiantes, in Brazil.
The first match ended in a 0-0 draw, in La Plata.
Verón is playing for Estudiantes.
McNamara That Ghost... - July 16, 2009 09:22 AM (GMT)
Estudiantes won 2-1. Veron was MOTM I believe.
Elreactor - July 16, 2009 11:25 PM (GMT)
Their 4th Libertadores.
A long way ahead till they reach the 7 that Independiente has got though :coffee:

Damn right :good:
Sign Hernanes.
tigerthesmurf85 - August 2, 2009 12:43 AM (GMT)
Sao Paulo are currently 11th after 15 games. On course for their worst season for a while. Palmeiras are first. Keirrison is an awesome young striker for them.
The Emirates Gallastico - August 2, 2009 04:41 AM (GMT)
Hasn't Keirrison gone to Benfica on loan from Barca?
Der_Kaiser - August 2, 2009 08:20 AM (GMT)
Yep. After falling out with the coach, who posted on twitter about it (saying Keirrison lacks professionalism and is a selfish so-and-so, and he's the director's favourite, who allowed him not to train) and then got sacked because of it...
Vanderlei Luxemburgo
Der_Kaiser - September 15, 2009 11:40 AM (GMT)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VC4Ilh3Eh9gDecent piece on Diego Souza of Palmeiras (supposed to be the best midfielder in Brazil according to some, I thought Hernanes was?) by FootBrazil.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j98JrCVGmPIAnother piece on Neymar and Douglas Costa - for those who've heard the hype but not really seen the players.
JackTheLad19 - September 15, 2009 05:16 PM (GMT)
I saw him play on some African channel when I was on holiday.
Palmeiras were playing a derby, against Internacional I think? They won 3-2 and everything went through Souza, won a penalty and notched another assist. Dangerous dribbler, tbf.
