I was there in 93/94 when we won 7-0 with McGoldrick getting the 7th!

Not the most attractive place in Belgium - but what is?

yeah

we'd better make the knockout stages 'cause if we don't meet a big name at some point, it'll feel like we weren't even in the CL

Sorry to any Standard Liege fan reading this.

I'd like to see Walcott in for Bendtner otherwise :hit:

Also does anyone know when Eduardo has this appeal thingy

Ach - September 12, 2009 11:26 PM (GMT)
Is Theo back?

If so then put him on for Bendtner and RVP on the left with Theo on the right

Marc Overmars - September 12, 2009 11:27 PM (GMT)
Expecting a tough game, they're never easy away in Europe.

Hard fought 1-2 win I'll go for.

Hope Eduardo plays, like to see him given a long overdue run in the team.

Liege were impressive last season against Liverpool and in the UEFA Cup.

Twill be a tough game.

THEO WALCOTT
September 10
Theo Walcott has not featured for Arsenal this season after suffering a back injury during the pre-season game with Valencia in Spain. The England star missed his country's matches in September but is almost ready for a return to action. "Theo is rid of the injury now,” said Wenger. “What is important now is to get him competitive again. He has not had any normal training sessions with the team. But I hope that will happen soon. He should be available next week.”

Thursday to Wednesday is close enough to a week

Wenger said Theo needs more training on the pitch. He hasnt train with the squad for couple of weeks. I dont think he will start this game. Expect Diaby and Bendtner to take his place, he will come in as a sub for one those two.
No Dudu and no Arshavin, we are very short up front and wide, I hope Wenger will not rush into playing Rosicky from the start. :coffee:

I was just stating what line up we should play in the CL in general, obviously. :getcoat:

Also, Steven Defour, the Liege Captain, is out for 6 weeks, broke his foot like Nasri did in kicking another player's leg instead of the ball.

He's the guy who MO said that Anderlecht player deserved his leg break. Witsel is banned - I think it counts for Europe.

Grebbo - September 14, 2009 10:35 AM (GMT)
Same team who played against Citeh.

Hopefully they'll be up for dishing out a spanking.

Actually we could do with Wilshere on the left, put Diaby back to CM. After Citeh Denilson should be on the bench. Or we could end up wwith Diaby on the left wing and Eboue on the right wing.. :cloud9:

Standard Liege defeated KV Mechelen 3-0 in the Belgian Jupiler League on Saturday, but the result was overshadowed by an injury to Steven Defour. The key midfielder suffered a compound fracture of his first metatarsal and is set to be sidelined for a minimum of three months, ruling him out of the entire Champions League Group Stage. Mehdi Gonzalez opened the scoring for Liege with a quick-fire double nine minutes into the second half. Eliaquim Mangala added the third after 68 minutes. Liege are currently fifth in the league table, and though unbeaten this season, they have drawn four of their opening six encounters.

tbh would have wanted to see him against us.
