Title: Man City v Arsenal
Description: 12/09/09 15:00

Ach - August 29, 2009 10:49 PM (GMT)
Got mauled here last season.

With the defeat against Man Utd, we must get something here.

No point predicting a team as a few are bound to be injured during the International break

The Wengerbabies - August 29, 2009 10:51 PM (GMT)
They have a weaker defence this season

Ach - August 29, 2009 10:53 PM (GMT)
Toure and Lescott are better than Richards and Dunne

Toure and Lescott are better than Richards and Dunne

I wasnt being completly serious although I would say our defence > their defence

I would also say our attack > their attack

In short us > them

Therefore we will win (I hope  )

Hopefully Rosicky, Cesc, Walcott and Nasri will be back! 1st 3 are sure to be???

Cesc and Walcott definatly should be Nasri maybe back in full traing and Rosicky, meh I wont hold my breath

Gubby-Allen - August 30, 2009 04:48 PM (GMT)
I'm guessing Cesc, Theo & Arshavin won't go away with their countries now - with their niggles?

Be good to have all three fresh & starting in two weeks.

Really need something from this - draw would be ok. Two straight defeats isn't a problem but I'm not sure of the mental strengths of this side to put it behind them for the next league game.

Other than Nasri, everyone else should be back.

Of course, wont make a difference as the players going on International duty will come back injured so our injured to fit players ratio will stay the same

Der_Kaiser - August 30, 2009 08:33 PM (GMT)
Rosicky is in the Czech squad FFS. Don't play for your country before you can prove you can play for us.

If he breaks down on international duty, I'll kill fakeyank. I'm not joking. :ninja:

EMMANUEL ADEBAYOR says it will be like a family at war when he lines up against Arsenal in 10 days' time.

The striker has had a great start to his Manchester City career with a goal in each of his three league games since a £25million move from the Emirates.

It has put big-spending City in the top four already and they now face a huge match with the Gunners a week on Saturday.

Adebayor still refers to his former Arsenal team-mates Emmanuel Eboue, Gael Clichy and Alex Song as his "brothers".

But there will be no love lost when they go head-to-head at Eastlands as City look to continue their impressive start to the season.

The Togo ace said: "I don't think I have anything that I need to show Arsenal.

"We all know how good they are - but now I play for City so I'll do everything to help this team now.

"It'll be a good game and will be funny as well playing against players who I see like brothers - such as Song, Clichy and Eboue.

"Playing against them will be strange - but it is going to be good.

"I'm looking forward to it because I'm going to be up against old team-mates, ones who made me into a better player."

Adebayor, 25, admits he owes Arsenal for giving him his chance in English football, although that will not stop him looking to shoot them down.

He added: "Those people believed in my quality when I first came to this country. To play against that club is going to be very special for me "They believed in my quality and helped put me where I am today. To play against Arsene Wenger will be something special."

Adebayor has already become a cult figure among City fans and says their support is driving him on to greater things.

That is in stark contrast to his relationship with the Emirates faithful, which resulted in an angry outburst when he opted for a switch to City in July.

He said: "I'm very happy. It's great to play in a team where the fans love you. When that happens, you always want to give them something back.

"All the new players have the support that they need from the fans and it helps. That gives you motivation and makes you a special player. For me the important thing is to keep on netting goals and, hopefully, it'll help us win some games.

"I'll just keep on working hard for my team-mates."

Many critics have been surprised at how quickly the likes of Adebayor, Carlos Tevez and Gareth Barry have settled in at City since joining this summer.

While there is still plenty of room for improvement, a record of three wins from three - and all clean sheets - is a decent start.

Adebayor said: "In football there is only one language. You know how to play, you just have to adapt to wherever you are playing.

"Everyone knows how good Tevez is and it's always easy to play alongside someone like him.

"The most important thing is to keep our good form going and we'll see where it can take us. At the moment, we have to keep believing in ourselves.

"We do not want to look too far ahead as the most important thing is to look towards each game as it comes.

"I go away for internationals and then come back to a big game against Arsenal - so, to me, the most important thing is to take everything slowly, game by game.

"But we want the fans to know that they can believe in us."

Speaks a lot of sense tbh. Hope he gets a good reception

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott is ready to return from injury after the imminent round of international matches. The 20-year-old Englishman has been out since injuring his lower back in a pre-season friendly against Valencia in August.

"Walcott missed his country's matches in September and is expected to return soon after the international break," read a statement on the club's official website.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has blamed Walcott's injury woes on a lack of rest during the summer. Wenger was furious when England coach Fabio Capello did nothing to prevent the former Southampton prodigy playing for England's Under-21 team at the European Championship in June. Then, in August, Capello took Walcott to Amsterdam, as part of England's squad for their friendly against the Netherlands.

"On Monday he went with England," Wenger said of Walcott's selection at the time. "I arrived here and saw England practising. They told me Theo has a back problem but they will take him. It will be one or two days, he will be clear. It isn't."

Going to this

What I am wondering, anyone been to the ground and know about views from the away end.

I have seats in row H and row S

at the emirates i would take the higher up seats due to atmosphere and view but I am not sure for this.

Generally away atmosphere good in whole of away end but wondering

DOES ANYONE HAVE INFORMATION ON THE VIEW FROM THEIR AWAY END?

Syn - September 7, 2009 05:17 PM (GMT)
Our best attacking player is back.

Good English lad, he is. He has been missed. The only attacking player we have who is allowed to dive and get away with it.

Big hopes for him this season. Play him in Bendtner's position out on the wide right, and we'll see better results.

Must go straight in the team.

Shame on you.

Robinho is a major doubt. Tevez is also doubtful.

Depends what tier you're sitting in. Upper should be OK, can't speak for Eastlands but any time I've been behind the goal in the upper tier it's been fine. Lower could pose a problem, but you'll see if it goes it ;)

On Saturday, Manchester City and Argentina striker Carlos Tevez was in the lineup as his international side lost 3-1 to Brazil, putting Argentina closer to missing out on next summer's World Cup. The Argentine FA has now confirmed that the player also suffered a twisted right knee, which will likely rule him out of the Citizens' next two Premier League matches against Arsenal and Manchester United. He will also miss Argentina's vital qualifier in Paraguay on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old ex-Boca Juniors star joins Robinho in the Eastlands treatment room, although City manager Mark Hughes is not lacking in depth up front as Emmanuel Adebayor and Craig Bellamy are both fit to start.

The injury means that Tevez will not be available for his anticipated return to Old Trafford on September 20. Tevez spoke out publicly throughout last season about his lack of playing time for United, leading to an acrimonious departure and manager Sir Alex Ferguson's insistence that Tevez, who scored 34 times in 99 appearances for the club, was "not worth £25 million".

Last month, Tevez further stoked the rivalry between the clubs by taking a swipe at Ferguson and insisting that the Red Devils were fearful of new-look City.

"Ferguson is history for me but I know that he is scared of playing against us," the striker told Globoesporte. "It's dangerous for Ferguson's objectives and for him to criticise Manchester City."

RVP Left Foot - September 8, 2009 09:41 AM (GMT)
City have not let a goal in this season yet

Ach - September 8, 2009 11:24 AM (GMT)
They will have let in at least 5 by saturday evening

Syn - September 8, 2009 11:37 AM (GMT)
Yup - confirmed by SSN. Tevez ruled out for this game.

A shame, because he's full-on shit.

Ach - September 8, 2009 11:40 AM (GMT)
It does mean Bellamy will play and hes worse.

Also has anyone heard about Santa Cruz since he joined them?

hes disappeared off the face of the planet.

Syn - September 8, 2009 11:51 AM (GMT)
Bellamy is much better than Tevez, I'm afraid.

It's so obvious that Bellamy and Adebayor are going to score. Robinho looks set to miss the game too.

They'll line up like this:

-----------------Given------------------

Richards ---Toure-- Lescott---- Bridge

------------De Jong--- Barry------------

Bellamy------------Ireland--------- Robinho

------------------Adebayor-----------------

SWP in for Robinho if he's injured. (He's a doubt).

That backline is shocking. Arshavin will fancy his chances of getting a few.

Ach - September 8, 2009 11:57 AM (GMT)
That backline hasnt conceded a goal.

Toure looks quality. The other 3 are a bit shit though.

And then they have Mr. Hollywood in goal. If we had some decent corner takers, we'd be a threat to them cos he usually gives away lots of them.

SWP will start regardless of Robinho being fit.

De Jong hasnt been a starter this season.

We jst have to mention to Ireland that his grandmas dead and he'll be in pieces

Marc Overmars - September 8, 2009 12:01 PM (GMT)
I think this could be a high scoring game, at least 4 goals I reckon.

I think both attacks will put both defences under lots of pressure, just a question of who cracks first.

Ade will score though, no doubt about it.
