Title: Ade vs RvP!
Description: Striker watch!! Just 4 fun!!
newguy - August 30, 2009 04:38 PM (GMT)
Ade is winning at the moment.
Ade 3 apps 3 gls
RvP 3 apps 0 gls
Do we add assists also?
Lets keep this rolling i'm hoping that RvP comes out the winner here, but i'm not confident it will happen.
I think we better add assists.
Ade 3 apps 3 gls 0 assists
RvP 3 apps 0 gls 3 assists (?)
Nayan - August 30, 2009 05:34 PM (GMT)
rvp has hit the bar twice from free kicks, forced one excellent save and had a goal chalked off for offside. It was of course offside, but he did everything he was supposed to.
how about:
bullshit threads 1, points 0,
:)
actually I take that back. Bullshit at least has a use. you can use it as fertiliser

Why? A lot of us strongly voiced the opinion we'd be better without Ade and that RVP is the better player. One of us went a bit further and said Ade is a complete waste of space- at the end of the day we should all be held accountable for our strong opinions on this board because their is a domino effect that spills onto the ground and fans
I think the more "I told you so threads" and "keeping count threads"we have, the more people will think before they come out with strong opinions which can only be a good thing.
I support this thread and Ade is making a lot of us look like fools (though it would help if AW followed the fans opinions and actually bought another proper CF and pushed RVP to the right).

Well, no, because the Ade of this season is not the Ade of last season.
His heart wasn't in it last year, that was obvious. It wouldn't have been this year either, he clearly wanted to be elsewhere. This year he's trying to prove a point and is back to the player we (well, most of us) know he can be.
I'm glad he's gone and we're looking better without him.
It would be nice to have the Ade of 2 years ago with us but there you go, he clearly wanted to follow the money.

I disagree. I understand more now why people were so harsh on Ade, in particular last season. I always stood up for the guy and felt he got a hard time unfairly pretty much ever since he arrived at the club but his cuntish attitude last season pretty much ruined any hard work he had put in to convince the fans.
And now? He's making himself look like a bigger c***. Sure, his ability to score goals was never in doubt for me but miraculously he has rediscovered his engine and is putting the work in for his new team, which makes a mockery of the initial support fans gave him last season, particularly after his summer antics.
Arsenal seem to be reaping the benefits of his cunty little attitude not rotting out the dressing room, so I don't regret him leaving at all. I'm sure he'll do great at City for a season or two, twat everyone off within that period and float off on his ego somewhere else after that.

Spot on mate.
Bit of an unfair comparison. If Eddie is playing regularly for us I'd compare Adebayor and Eduardo.
Have to say City's team when I look at looks very attacking and very strong. Will be interesting to see. Hope Cesc is back for the game.

Still need a replacement though.

A committed on form Ade is one of the best strikers in PL, that's an absolute fact. The problem is Ade didn't want to be at Arsenal last season hence his pathetic showings.
We did the right thing cashing in on him but City now have a very good proven PL striker.

What a load of bull dung. You think Wenger gives a toss what anyone else thinks about his transfers?? He does what he thinks is best for the team and so far hes been proven right. We've won the majority of our games with many scored, few conceded and lost a game we controlled and would have won had we not made stupid mistakes.
3 games in and Cashmenuel greedybayors loss is lamented. Give it time and his antics of last season will show up. So far wengers done very well getting rid of him and Toure, time will confirm this.

What I was saying is that I don't think he is making people look like fools in their entirety (if that makes sense?). Yes, as he is continuing to knock in the goals but no because by his improved work rate this season, he has shown himself up to be a complete tosser and proven a lot of people right in that respect.
newguy - August 30, 2009 08:51 PM (GMT)
Guys, it's a bit of fun. Damn, feelings are high on GW at the moment. It's not a intended Ade vs RvP thread in regards to who's better, more who's doing what for their respective clubs.
I guess it was bound to happen that the comparisons and the "we sold the wrong one" or "we were right to sell him" would happen. I think we were ight to sell him, but as Rkane said it makes me feel a bit sick to see him bust a gut now, but thats Ade for you and i honestly dont think he keep it going.
It woud be nice if RvP could get on the scoresheet against em though.

We havent got long to make moves. I think Wenger will assess the games we've had so far and make a decision. What it will be we'll know soon enough, but i wouldnt be against bringing in another striker, especially if he is going to persist with Bendtner playing as a right winger and Eduardo only playing a bit part in the league.

It still remains to be seen if RVP can play the roll in the middle by himself - but credit to him at least as he is putting in the work rate - whether or not that will be enough in the games when the midfield don't score, remains to be seen.

Ade may have scored more but in terms of dressing room etc, it seems Ade going has helped. The squad is more united now and Cesc summed it up in his pre Everton interview where he said it was better for all parties.
RVP has looked hungry and helped others, City have had easy games and good luck to them but I am still glad Ade went as he was disruptive and will soon get bored

Its amazing how Ade's issues keep changing even after he left us.
First it was a donkey that could not hit the barn
Then it was lazy arrogant black statue
Now, he was the guy who was disruptive in the dressing room.
It does not matter now does it? He is gone and he is happy sco0ring goals and we are happy because we got rid of the misfit and made a lot of money... RIGHT!
Are we really ...? Psychologist have a term for it called 'DENIAL'
Ade WILL BE Ade WHATEVER Ade IS . And we have to live with that as long as he continues to play in EPL. Time will tell whether he is
1. TALENTLESS
2. LAZY
3. OPPORTUNISTIC
4. ARROGANT
5. DISRUPTIVE
6. MONEY GRABBING
Or just an ordinary guy who is very underrated and misunderstood. Fact Ade is will not go away on GW whether he is banging goals or not and we will have to live with it.

FACT IS:
Fans got Ade out of Emirates.
AW said it. Mark Huges has said it.
"The Man City manager Mark Hughes saw his new £25m striker Emanuel Adebayor score his third goal in three games to help retain City’s 100% start to the season, and reckons that his improvement is down to the support he receives from the fans at the Eastlands, as opposed to the boos and criticism he received from the Arsenal supporters."

newguy - August 31, 2009 08:50 AM (GMT)
He's at his level of club IMO. The fans at eastlands wont boo because they're happy he's there. We're coming off having players like DB10, TH14, RP7 we have a higher expectation and made it clear to Ade and any other player at the club that thought he could take it easy wearing an Arsenal shirt.
In the long run this will have been beneficial. And in 13 days or so we'll see how good Man City and Ade really are.
Darth Vela - August 31, 2009 11:35 AM (GMT)
For what it's worth, I reckon something will give at Citeh, especially if they don't get into Europe or maybe just the CL this season, too many ego's and too little success will take their toll. Ade's ego will be involved, eventually he'll stop scoring and might get benched, either way he's showing his class on the pitch atm and in tinme he'll show his lack of class off it.

I don't think that's entirely correct. Sure the fans were on his back, but only cause he was tarting himself around to AC Milan and drug out the will he stay/will he go saga the whole of last summer. Couple that with his very DILLIGAF behavior for the most of last season and he made himself look like a disloyal c*** that can't be arsed. Hardly a figure for fans to get behind now is it and I can certainly see City fans reacting the same way should he do it to them...
