Title: Ljungberg
Description: coming back on loan?

bergkampwonderland10 - September 4, 2009 04:54 PM (GMT)
Reports in the Norwegian papers say he's injury free and that Arsene is thinking of bringing him back on loan in January. I'm not so sure though.

It's Up For Grabs Now - September 4, 2009 05:40 PM (GMT)
Why would we do that?

Arshavinslittlelegs - September 4, 2009 06:42 PM (GMT)
Legend when he was here but I'm afraid hes past it.

Marc Overmars - September 4, 2009 06:49 PM (GMT)
Great work ethnic but doesn't really have the quality anymore that we need.

fakeyank - September 4, 2009 06:53 PM (GMT)
He is doing really well for the Seattle Sounders

Rkane - September 4, 2009 10:26 PM (GMT)
Sorry, our quota of injured players has been filled.

Since his op he's been back to his old self, I'd take him back on loan no problem.

Marc Overmars - September 5, 2009 08:33 AM (GMT)
Yeah but tearing it up in America is hardly a ringing endorsement!

PGFC - September 5, 2009 08:38 AM (GMT)
I'd bring him back just to break John Terrys leg.

Marc Overmars - September 5, 2009 08:41 AM (GMT)
I'll have some of that. :good:

If he's past it like Henry was apparently past it, then I'm in defo.

we need a bigger squad and i'd welcome anyone that wenger wants

I wonder what the source of the rumor is. On the one hand, combined with the Vieira rumor, you could infer that Wenger has identified mentality/experience in a weakness in the squad, which he wants to remedy with past champions. There's no question it is a weakness, and I'm sure AW has some solution in mind. (Whether it'll work is a different question.)

On the other hand, the whole world knows about the weakness, and it's exactly this sort of thing that causes journos to fabricate transfer links.

Where and when would Freddie play? Who'd get pushed down the ladder? Wilshere and Vela almost certainly. Eboue, too. I dunno, for various reasons, I'd rather see any of those three start instead of Freddie.

(But I haven't seen him play since he was Awful for West Ham. Maybe I'm underrating him now.)

He was in London, hence the source of the rumour. Also, I wouldn't mind having him back to help out and pass on his experience.

that's actually the motive for the rumor, or its impetus or some such. But it's not the source.

Unless it means he talked to certain people because he was in London.

Former Arsenal winger Freddie Ljungberg is under contract with the Seattle Sounders through the 2010 season, but has the rumour mill churning with a recent visit to London in which he reportedly met with representatives from the Emirates.

The 32-year-old has kept quiet about speculation that he is seeking an loan to the Premier League during the MLS off-season, and responded equivocally when pressed on the issue.

"I haven't decided what I want to do," he said.

Ljungberg has adapted well to the MLS, being named captain in the 2009 league all-star star game against Everton, and endeared himself to local press.

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer wrote: "The marquee player for America's nouveau soccer sensation, Seattle Sounders FC, Ljungberg has been the perfect player, the perfect personality, exactly the right choice, to sell the game and sell this team to this city."
