Title: Arsenal v Wigan
Description: 19/09/09 15:00
Ach - September 13, 2009 03:40 AM (GMT)
Finally a home game.
Something we havent had for nearly a month.
Arshavin, Theo and Rosicky all to start and with Eduardo banging them in, Wigan will be put to the sword
Milla - September 13, 2009 05:11 AM (GMT)
I am going to this one. Not sure Arshavin will start though, Wenger is pretty much made up his mind not to play Arshavin for this game. Rosicky will continue to start for the bench. However I think Theo is ready to play for 90 minutes. :coffee:

I did wonder how Wenger settled on "3 games" Arshavin will miss? Why not 2 or 4? The games are coming 3 days apart so surely it cannot be specified that accurately.
Hope he's ok for it. Need a good win.
JackTheLad19 - September 13, 2009 09:03 AM (GMT)
Wigan have had a strange start, great and unexpected wins against Villa and West Ham but completely capitulated otherwise.
If we can sneak in front then they should be there for the taking, IMO.
McNamara That Ghost... - September 13, 2009 09:09 AM (GMT)
Hopefully we'll gain points on either one of Citeh and Man Utd.
Marc Overmars - September 13, 2009 09:34 AM (GMT)
Wigan normally give us a good game.
As Maccy says we can cut points on either Manc teams, so a must win.
Where's My Username Gone? - September 13, 2009 06:22 PM (GMT)
We always struggle against Wigan, doubt it'll be any different here.

It's Chelsea V Tottenham too, Liverpool are away as well so hopefully the table should look a little healthier this time next week.
If we don't win this, then the inquisitions will need to start.

The same Wigan that have never beaten us in the league?
Gubby-Allen - September 16, 2009 09:40 PM (GMT)
So who of the 9 are back for this one?
Just RVP & Denilson? Or will Almunia, Arshavin & Walcott be likely to figure?
Vela was only mentioned as "long term" not long ago by AW - but nothing else. Is he out of the CC game?

ROBERTO MARTINEZ will tell his Wigan side to forget about statistics and go all out to beat Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday.
The Latics, who have won two of their five Premier League games this campaign, have lost on their last six visits to North London.
But boss Martinez insists his players will not employ any defensive tactics against a Gunners side looking to bounce back from successive domestic defeats to Manchester City and Manchester United.
The Spaniard said: "We are not going to go into any game thinking about damage limitation because you have no chance of getting any points and you don't learn anything like that.
"We will be brave and open-minded and use every game we play to grow as a team."
Wigan make the journey fresh off the back of a 1-0 win over West Ham.
Martinez added: "It's the way you develop, the way you learn, the way you grow as a team — and we are going to carry on doing that against Arsenal.
"We know we are in a transitional time. We know we are learning certain aspects in terms of growing together so to be able to see the game through like we did against West Ham was pleasing."

Is Arshavin back for this one?
Him and Rosicky tearing it up. :cloud9:
Although I doubt Super Tom can start twice in 3 days.
Whatever - September 17, 2009 12:40 PM (GMT)
4:0 to us
Fabregas, Gallas, Eduardo, Eboue

http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/29689/injury-newsArshavin has 10% chance to play. RVP to start, Denilson will miss couple of weeks due to back problem. We are so short, I think Rosicky will start this game as well. Mannone to continue in front of the goal.
Same starting line up againt Standard Liege IMO.
2charlies - September 17, 2009 01:31 PM (GMT)

Should have enough to get the job done, but you never know with us.
McNamara That Ghost... - September 17, 2009 01:57 PM (GMT)
If you're going to rate somebody with a 10% chance of playing you should really just say they're out.
:coffee:
Syn - September 17, 2009 02:06 PM (GMT)
Would be quite funny if Arshavin started now. :coffee:
Wenger also said Rosicky isn't ready to start games. A few days later he starts an away Champions League game.

Didn't Lehmadman "get a virus" when he went through a shit patch?
apparently nothing to do with his knee RvP is off getting advise from plastic surgeon re his gash* to keep the model looks
*apparently she wants a breast op :run:
Gubby-Allen - September 17, 2009 09:29 PM (GMT)
We must get more back injuries than any other club.
Rio apart other players get a twinge in their back & they might miss a game. Our players get one & they're out for 9 years.
Walcott's been "just short" and "a week away" for about a month now.
What exactly is wrong with Vela?
and what on earth does "a 10% chance of playing" actually mean?
Ach - September 17, 2009 09:36 PM (GMT)
Maybe he can only play in 10% of the match?

I always thought when we posted that "we lacked spine" that we were talking figuratively :sulk:
Theo keeps popping his shoulder knocking one out to his mrs photo"shoooooot£££"
Vela is sulking because we were going to stick him out on loan to some third rate team (instead of playing for our second rate team)
10% chance of playing means 90% that they won't :console:
Gubby-Allen - September 17, 2009 10:06 PM (GMT)
I know the table counts for shit at this stage, but looking at the other games, it looks like we won't move any higher than 9th after this weekend, even if we tonk them.
Czech Out Rosicky - September 18, 2009 04:01 PM (GMT)
Martinez says Wigan will attack, expect 10 men behind the ball with rodallega running the line alone
I think if Rosicky starts, it must be in the middle three, not out wide.
Bendtner Eduardo and RVP to be the front 3 for me

Arsenal v Wigan
Arsenal will be buoyed by their success in Europe midweek - they were missing about nine players for that match but they still won. Despite losing at Manchester City last week, they were in control for large parts of the game.
Wigan are still very up and down. They had a much-needed home win last week but Arsenal will have too much for them.
Verdict: 2-0
