Title: Need help
Description: coming to London
fakeyank - September 22, 2009 05:15 PM (GMT)
So, I just got my UK visa last week and am planning a trip to London for about 5-6 days; nov 25-nov 30. My main reason for coming is to try and catch the arsenal-chelsea game at emirates.
I have been to London twice before but it was with my folks and I couldnt really go to the 'places' I would want to go to.. instead I went to harrods, buckingham palace and other tourist attractions. So I needed some suggestions from you guys and most importantly some help:
- I really would appreciate if someone can guarantee me a ticket for the game. I know it goes on sale sometime in october but chelsea being the opposition, I am not really expecting to be able to buy it off the site. Anyone who has friends (who has tickets) or is looking to sell their ticket, please please sell it to me.. I would be your sex slave. I will book my flight only if I am sure I can watch the game as thats the main reason I plan on coming to London
- What are the places to visit- good clubs, restaurants etc around?
- What about Hotels close to the ground? I am not looking for anything fancy, just a place to keep my stuff and hopefully bring some ladies :D.. My budget is around 80-100$ a day... Yes, thats dollars and not pounds!
- How about a GW meet? It would be nice to meet up with some or most of you folks around London! :) I have met JF and hopefully in January when I am in Dubai, this time, I will meet the blonde hoe of GW!
Replies will be greatly appreciated! Tickets are no.1 priority!!

Did you buy anything from Harrods? I went there on the weekend, saw a pen worth 500 quid.
Lots of good restaurants and clubs in and around Piccadilly Circus. Camden is not bad either.
If you fancy a bit of sleaze though, go to Faces in Ilford...
Get Bendtner - September 22, 2009 06:02 PM (GMT)
You can get them in the bookies for free.
Rkane - September 22, 2009 06:09 PM (GMT)
Hackney, in particular Dalston or Clapton.
You'll love it.
Bunk Moreland - September 22, 2009 06:17 PM (GMT)
If you want to visit the hub of South Asian coconuts acting like G's then visiting Whitechapel and Newham.

What is it you are looking for fakeyank?
fakeyank - September 22, 2009 06:51 PM (GMT)
Well, I am primarily looking for tickets- first priority is Arsenal. :)
Other than that, Im just looking to look around London. When I say good restaurants, I mean places where we can get good English food and not the national food- curry!
Clubs I'd like to go to are where there are single HOT ladies in abundance and the music is good (House/Techno, Hip hop etc)
Harrods, I just visited there with my folks. My dad bought a shirt which cost a fortune. He didnt buy me anything :(
fakeyank - September 22, 2009 06:54 PM (GMT)
Oh yea, I also visited this place called southall or southend (dont remember) Had a lot of brown people!!! :o
Also wanted to ask you guys with knowledge.. Do I have to pay to be a red member? How easy is it for a person who does not live in UK? I am sorry they might sound like dumb questions but I have no clue.
And realistically, what are the chances of Red members actually having a chance to buy them (tix to chelsea game)?
Also, assuming I cant arrange for a ticket before the game, is there ANY possibility of may be nicking it off before KO. I understand I will have to pay OTT but is there an estimate... how much will i be duped for?
chrissie - September 22, 2009 07:02 PM (GMT)
I can't help with the tickets but I would recommend:

Mrs IT due to pop 22nd Nov so won't be going, only a Red Member but happy to try and get you 1 or 2 tickets on the 29th Oct (although I'm doubting Reds will get a sniff of these), you would need to come to a historical town norf of London village to pick up the membership cards/drop off the cash though (nice day out for the folks)
Bunk Moreland - September 22, 2009 07:25 PM (GMT)
I think you should take up this personal service from IT.

Thats great! Congratulations on the soon to be new addition to world population your family!
From my understanding, I too knew that it would be very hard for Red members to get a sniff of the tickets. I'll keep you on my radar and holla around 10/29 in case my efforts to get a 'definite' ticket proves fruitless! You have any friends/family who are silver members and may be not going to the game, let me know. As for picking up the tickets, I will come wherever you ask me to come and get the tix! I have a slightly light calendar at work till april/may 2010 but after that, I will be moved to another branch with additional responsibility and not a very high pay rise, so I am trying to get some traveling out of the way... Watching Arsenal play at Emirates is top priority though!!
Oh yea, one more question for you peeps at London... what about stadium tours? Can I do that a day before the game? Is it available everyday of the week etc etc? Any additional information would be great... like may be being able to meet Song or Eboue? :)

stadium tours website thingy
https://bookings.arsenal.com/stadiumtours/b.../selecttour.htmsorry mate gave up his (loaned) season ticket, will ask him to consult his consortium to see if there is a spare (although you might have to put up with some strange Suffolk accents...)
If you are feeling flush you could try corporate

I understand that 1500 tickets go to red members for Cat A games.
If you can't get one from a red member then try here
http://www.onlinegooner.com/phpbb2/viewfor...d110a692d13d582 It seems to be a very active ticket buy/sell arsenal forum. Tickets always sold at face value too.
Hope you get sorted.

Another way for a red member is through ticket exchange. Ticket Exchange is the official Club method whereby season ticket holders can sell on their tickets. Regular visits to this should net a ticket.
My mates are silver members and I get all my tickets this way. There is a remote possibility that an extra one could become available.
Don't worry mate, one way or another, between us, we'll get you a ticket and you won't have to pay over the odds with a piece of trash scalper.

Thanks for the info!!! I cant tell you how much I appreciate it. I know this thread wouldnt stay up forever but once I am close to buying my flight- sometime in 2-3 weeks, I will send a message on here again and catch up with you wonderful peeps and hopefully land a ticket! In the meanwhile, I'll keep looking at the places you have asked me to look!!
Thanks! :dancingman:

The food hall is just the best, I could spend all day in there and spend a fortune.
Got a cottage pie for lunch the other day £3.95 great value, and some lovely olives :jumpnana:

Fakeyank, if you speak to TEG he should be able to advise you of the best way to hold on to the landing gear of the plane for safe passage over.

I'm hoping my Bro's missus cocks up again and books them away somewhere for that game. Already got his season ticket for Spuds
If you're wanting good nightlife, I'd check out Camden and Soho. Always stuff going on. Plenty of clubs and bars. Just don't wander accidently into any of the "wrong" type of bars. Not that I have a habit of doing that of course...... :(
