No different to any other year then.
Surprised the apathy has began by game 2. The tedium usually reaches it's peak at game 4 & 5 - dread think how dull they'll be if most group leaders have 9 points from 9 by that point.

hopefully the return of arshavin, theo and rosicky will reduce the risk of eboue, denilson and diaby playing.
hopefully we won't be complacent for this one :good:

Do Olimp have anyone decent?
Fancy us for a comfortable win here if we're professional enough.

Both full-backs will be rested, fancy Rosicky will start, not sure Theo will even be involved.
I reckon:
Mannone
Eboue, Gallas, Vermalean, Gibbs
Fabregas, Song, Rosicky
Eduardo (if fit), Van Persie, Arshavin
Almunia, Sagna, Clichy, Ramsey, Diaby, Bendtner, Vela

Not sure about decent, but the players that we'd 'know'...
Raul Bravo ( ), Olof Mellberg, Matt Derbyshire, Enzo Maresca, Cristain Ledesma and the Greek national GK.

I thought Mellberg was at Juve? Must have gone tits up for him then.
JackTheLad19 - September 27, 2009 08:34 AM (GMT)
I think Arshavin might start from the bench for this one, ran out of steam early yesterday.
From the Fulham game - Rosicky in for him and Eduardo in for RVP maybe (assuming he's not injured). Possibly Eboue in for Diaby as well.
Don't need anything overly complicated like Liege here, a safe 3 points sees us sitting pretty at the top.

He needs more games tbh. Start our strongest team, dont feck around by resting players. We are not yet 1/3 into the season, everyone should be fresh but need matc practice. :coffee:

New Olympiakos manager Zico has admitted that his side are exhausted ahead of their Champions League tie against Arsenal.
The Greek champions travel to the Emirates on Tuesday night having played four games in the space of just 10 days.
Zico was confirmed as Olympiakos manager at the start of those four games, and has seen his side win all but one of them. The Brazilian coach replaced former Newcastle United cult hero Temuri Ketsbaia.
Despite their recent good form, Zico admitted that playing the Gunners will be difficult, and hoped to overcome his team's tiredness. Both Olympiakos and Arsenal are on three points after winning their opening group stage matches, against AZ Alkmaar and Standard Liege respectively.
"We hope to play good football in London," Zico said to Sky Sports.
"I am worried because of the tiredness. At the second half against Panionios [on Saturday] I saw tired players and this is something that I have to resolve.
"We hope to overcome the problem and have a good game. We know very well the difficulties of playing against Arsenal.
"They are a big club but we are confident of doing well in London. We must show that winning mentality that we show in Greece."
Olympiakos defender Olof Mellberg, who joined on a free transfer from Juventus in the summer, stressed the need to stay focused in defence.
"We must stay focused and concentrated at the back because Arsenal under [Arsene] Wenger always play attacking football with good movements and good passing," the former Aston Villa star said.
"Their offensive line is really strong and I think that we will have a lot of work to do on Tuesday night.
"We are a good team also, with many experienced players and we will have our chance to make a good result there.
"It will be hard but we believe in ourselves and we will try to make our fans proud just like we did at the opener against AZ Alkmaar." |

Full strength team (whatever Arsene considers that to be). I want us to qualify as early as possible.
