Title: Pompey players not paid
Rors - October 1, 2009 04:07 PM (GMT)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...uth/8284936.stmDue to 'the slowness of the takeover' says Patsy Hart. 'Sure' say the rest of us.
This is just about it for Pompey now, fun while it lasted eh chaps?
Marc Overmars - October 1, 2009 04:30 PM (GMT)
Hart sounds very deluded to me, his team are appauling yet he seems so upbeat after every game.

To be fair to Pompey, they arent playing that bad.
Should have destroyed Everton last week and really should have won others or at least picked up a few points.
With fans like those though, im glad they are down

Portsmouth shouldn't get too down, they're only the nineteenth worst team in the league. Ahead of Wigan of course.
In all seriousness though, it's kind of sad how quickly things have gone absolutely tits up for Portsmouth. Prior to the season I would have said it laughable a team wouldn't manage to get past the 11 points Derby set two seasons ago. It might well be possible this season after all.

Where did all the money go from Diarra, Crouch, Defoe, Muntari etc?
Nothing was re-invested, something ain't right there.

What have you got against their fans?
I thought they were fantastic that time we destroyed them in the FA Cup.

Yeh, they clapped Henry off IIRC.
It was a 5-1 win I think.
Marc Overmars - October 1, 2009 07:32 PM (GMT)
Yeah Henry wore their shirt off the pitch and they sung his name. Great moment.
JackTheLad19 - October 1, 2009 07:37 PM (GMT)
Their fans on the whole are great, it's just this twat

There's about a dozen people in that shot.

dont think they recouped everyhitng they paid for crouch, defoe etc in the first place did they? as to the rest they have bills to pay.
If they go into administation do they just get a points deduction or do they get relegated immediately?
ANd what happens to forthcoming fixtures vs pompey?
McNamara That Ghost... - October 2, 2009 04:40 PM (GMT)
The fixtures would still be played, initially.
I believe if you go in to administration it is definitely a points deduction, not sure about instant relegation. I could have got that the wrong way round though.
Anyway, if Portsmouth go in to administration, it just means somebody (an admin) will work at Portsmouth (but not for Portsmouth) to try and financially turn it round - if that fails, well that is when they'd cease to exist.
Whatever - October 2, 2009 05:10 PM (GMT)
I always liked Pompey and everytime I saw them this season, they looked quite decent (apart from the game against us)
shame..there are like 10 teams that I would rather see going down
