Title: Gary Cahill

Bolton's Gary Cahill is also being monitored closely, though with Manchester United interested in the centre-half, Wenger will steer clear if a bidding war develops.

Bolton manager Gary Megson is insistent Cahill won't be sold until the end of the season and the club will expect £20m for the defender. Arsenal won't pay that but Wenger needs cover for William Gallas and Thomas Vermaelen.

Arsenal have scoured the continent but come up blank, with Juventus's Giorgio Chiellini admired but ruled out for now as, like Vermaelen, he is left footed and Wenger does notwant two left-sided players at the heart of defence.

I think they've cocked up in their title, tbh :coffee:

Bunk Moreland - October 3, 2009 10:52 PM (GMT)
Excellent defender but out of our budget.

Jack Will Score - October 4, 2009 07:01 AM (GMT)
doubt we'll spend that much any time soon, will probably have to wait for wenger to go before we do.

Marc Overmars - October 4, 2009 09:41 AM (GMT)

Ach - October 4, 2009 09:43 AM (GMT)

He's pretty damn good.

IF Bolton would let him go for 10m, I'd be willing to pay that, anything more and forget it.

they called him tim cahill lol

Rors - October 4, 2009 02:42 PM (GMT)
Trust me, you could do a lot lot worse. Was gutted when we let him go for 5mill, an absolute pittance really (and this coming from someone who by and large is a fan of most MON moves). Great positional sense, isn't just a reckless last-ditcher, and chips in wth more than his fair share the other end.

fari - October 4, 2009 05:43 PM (GMT)
we just might get him...i wonder if he wants to raise his profile in hopes of getting called up. has he been called up before?

Ach - October 4, 2009 05:44 PM (GMT)
Yes

The Emirates Gallastico - October 4, 2009 05:51 PM (GMT)
He's pretty fucking shit.

Next.

Gooner in Nipon - October 5, 2009 08:57 AM (GMT)
20 mil - no thanks and no chance!

let Utd spend that if they want!

Grebbo - October 5, 2009 10:10 AM (GMT)
MON really is terrible in the transfer market. Another £40m spent on shit this summer.

Pays £6m for Dunne and sells Cahill for £5m

:haha:

RVP Left Foot - October 5, 2009 10:52 AM (GMT)
Er £20 mill !! let him go to city for that price

Nayan - October 5, 2009 12:23 PM (GMT)
10 mill for vermaelen, and we are goingg to spend 20 million on the backup.

We wouldnt spend 15 mill to put hangeland on the bench but we would spend 20 million just to have gary cahill around.

priceless.

Jack Will Score - October 5, 2009 10:57 PM (GMT)
wenger wouldn't pay 20m for messi or ronaldo!

Ach - October 5, 2009 11:02 PM (GMT)
Messi isnt worth that tbh.

Neither is ROnaldo tbh but at least he is worth more

Because an offer like that for them would be laughed off :coffee:

But point taken :good:

Jack Will Score - October 5, 2009 11:07 PM (GMT)
tbf that is based on his track record, nothing to say he won't change his mind but if he were to go for a player who costs that sort of money surely we'd be outbid by a rival club every time?
