to be fair there would be some reason behind not thinking we would finish well having sold two of our best players after a disappointing league season where we only finished fourth after villa messed up.
it appears we are either having our post sale bounce (as happened in 08) or we are pushing on to challenge, would be stupid to say there is nothing behind doubting we would be in the top four at the beginning of the season.

I didnt doubt we would finish top 4 this season, not once.
Also, Villa may have messed up last season, but we still had to push on and win those games at the end of the season that counted. That was down to us not Villa.

We didn't finish 4th because of Villa's collapse. We finished 4th because we got it together and went on a long unbeaten run. Villa's collapse made it nice and comfortable but we'd have finished 4th anyway. IMO.
And we didn't sell 2 of our best players.
