Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has warned the Premier League's 'big four' they will continue to drop points.

Starting with Wigan.

Thats good to know, although I thought he would be a bit more positive about his £140m team.
It does confirm pretty much what we predicted at the start of the season that Citeh will finish 5th or 6th though :coffee:

Thanks for clearing that up Sparkie.

McNamara That Ghost... - October 19, 2009 09:44 AM (GMT)
Citeh will continute to drop points too I reckon, at a guess.

Save me Jebus! - October 19, 2009 09:46 AM (GMT)
Thats what I was trying to get at.

Obviously, I failed :getcoat:

:pal:

Although this is theirs or another clubs best chance for a CL place due to Liverpools shitness

I said at the start of the season that I thought Liverpool would be most likely to drop out of the top four.

I stilll stand by that prediction.

Very brave of you!

The problem with Liverpool is that if Gerrard and Torres arent playing they are largely crap.

Beaten by a beach ball

Grebbo - October 19, 2009 12:20 PM (GMT)
He was absolutely itching to have a go at the ref for not giving the penalty. But he couldn't because he'd decided before the game to praise the ref no matter what to try and play with the big boys (Fergie).

He must have been dying inside.

I think they will get top 4 though.

Xaviola - October 19, 2009 11:50 PM (GMT)
Liverpool have a better squad and City will miss Adebayor and Toure when they're off to the ACoN. I think it will be the usual top four come May.

Liverpool have a better squad

that is simply not true

and, even if it were, Citeh will buy the entire Serbian national team or something in the winter window while Rafa and the Americans fight over who's picking up the donut bill for the boardroom meeting

Jack Will Score - October 20, 2009 06:15 AM (GMT)
hopefully the citeh and scouse decline continues, at least for another month or two.

one problem with hughes's argument is that whilst the top 4 will lose points those below them will lose more.

bergstar - October 20, 2009 07:16 AM (GMT)
Think Citeh will be there all the way this season. They have adequate cover for ACON in Bellamy, Tevez and Santa Cruz. They have a far more balanced squad than Liverpool

Maxzimus - October 20, 2009 08:29 AM (GMT)
This guy is such a plank, can't stand him and his attitude since he's been given this load of cash. Man City are fast becoming the team I dislike the most.

So he's had a decent start to the season, there's a long way to go and hopefully some harsh lessons for him and his team, hopefully one at the Emirates :good:

:goodpost:

I think his statement would have had more credibility if they had actually won the game rather than manage to scrape a lucky draw.

No shit Sherlock. If they lose fewer, then they would be above, right? ;)

Hughes's side kept up the pressure at the top of the Premier League after drawing at Wigan

Yeah - a point at Wigan. That's really turning the screw. ;)

McNamara That Ghost... - October 20, 2009 10:44 AM (GMT)
Kept up the pressure by letting us get to fourth.

Michael Westen - October 20, 2009 10:47 AM (GMT)
So he's said we'll still drop points.

No shit.

But i guess that is out of order, how dare he.

Dude come on even most Man U fans think he's a tw*t, who can blame them he is.

He's like one of those cocky city bankers who's all cocky because he's come into loads of money, till he gets sacked that is, then he can disappear off with his tail between his legs (and his millions of course).

Michael Westen - October 20, 2009 11:44 AM (GMT)
I read the article, what did he say wrong?

bergstar - October 20, 2009 11:53 AM (GMT)
Perfectly reasonable comments i'd say. It is looking like some of the so called lesser teams are having a right go in games, believeing they can get something rather than parking the bus. Hopefully that'll remain the case, however as the table takes shape after Xmas, some teams may start worrying about their position and be less adventourous or picking the games they go all out for their points.

To be honest it's not so much this article but his general attitude regarding his club and the discipline (or lack) of his players.

He's full of it.

I posted it as a joke, as the way it was worded it made it sound like he was saying that 'they' (being citeh) would continue to drop points - after dropping 2 points at wigan.

A clever play on words if you will.

Since he lost his perm/mullet he's got more vocal in a bad way. Bring the perm/mullet back!

Hughes didn't say anything wrong because he was staing the obvious.

But his new found arrogence, cockyness and his Cripps....not now of course style winding up are grating on everyone.

He knows hes discovered the treasures of the lost City of Atlantis, and is trowing his presense around.

Smarmy git.

St. Jimmy - October 20, 2009 03:31 PM (GMT)
Hughes should be killed tbh.

Shit manager, shit player.

Believing they can win things?
