Title: 'Songs of Rage'

Rors - October 26, 2009 09:37 PM (GMT)
Current Fivelive doc on now about abuse...could be interesting.

Rors - October 26, 2009 09:40 PM (GMT)
First quote of note - 'Robbie Savage deserves it'

Second - 'You put up with abuse when you're a motorist, it's the same thing, so footballers should be able to take it'. WTF!?!

Rors - October 26, 2009 09:45 PM (GMT)
General angle here appears to be that a player becomes 'an ordinary bloke when they leave the field'.

I don't know how possible that is this day and age...?

Rors - October 26, 2009 09:58 PM (GMT)
Adebayor being defended a bit here..

'Why shouldn't you celebrate after getting dog's abuse?' - Savage

Whilst it's really not that simple Rob - especially in that instance - I also hate the "won't celebrate if I score against a former club" thing

Rors - October 26, 2009 10:09 PM (GMT)
Some jobbing journalist saying that nothing is off-limits abuse-wise. 'Can't apply social etiquette as that destroys the atmosphere - which is great about football. You can say anything, should be unqualified'

Absolute rubbish.

Rors - October 26, 2009 10:11 PM (GMT)
'If you get rid of indecent chatting you get rid of the atmosphere'

I get the impression you're not too fond of this documentary, Rors ;)

I am of the idea of the documentary - glad Fivelive are looking at this issue. I'm not of some of the opinions being put forward in it - Of Course, That's The Point Though.

I guess most views were of the view because fans pay to watch they can do/say whatever they like.

Yup. 'Gotta let off steam haven't ya?'

Some Celtic fans during the minutes silence today, although it does end up sounding like quite a few whilst the singing takes place.

As the Nesbitts would have it "The wee bas'ards tha' they arre!"

Good on the Falkirk fans for booing those tossers afterwards

The Wengerbabies - November 8, 2009 11:18 PM (GMT)
What was the minutes silence for anyway?

:yoss:
