McNamara That Ghost... - October 30, 2009 11:10 PM (GMT)
Well, 12pm is when the programme starts, it usually takes place at about 12:15.

Arsenal
Aston Villa
Blackburn
Chelsea
Manchester City
Manchester United
Portsmouth
Tottenham Hotspur

JackTheLad19 - October 30, 2009 11:17 PM (GMT)
Don't think it needs to be said really but...Pompey

Whatever - October 30, 2009 11:17 PM (GMT)
Jesus, some tough draws out there. Hoping for a home game.

Blackburn, Portsmouth and ManUtd(who would play their second string) would be fine for our second string.

The rest would probably be too strong for silvestre, Ramsay and Co..should avoid chelsea at all cost if we wanna win this thing

Lancastrian Gunner - October 30, 2009 11:50 PM (GMT)
Pompey are probably our best chance of progressing.

I reckon the youngsters could take Blackburn too (I was there last time we played them in the Carling at Ewood - great performance and terrific game).

Jack Will Score - October 30, 2009 11:56 PM (GMT)
I'd sooner face a team that would challenge and develop the kids than a lesser able opponent.

utd at home would be great for our fans to be able to go to but away would be good for the kids development.

Milla - October 31, 2009 12:24 AM (GMT)
Another NLD with Spuds, I believe our CC squad has unfinished business with them.

Where's My Username Gone? - October 31, 2009 10:12 AM (GMT)
Spurs or Pompey at home

Marc Overmars - October 31, 2009 10:14 AM (GMT)
A home game will do

Arshavinslittlelegs - October 31, 2009 11:11 AM (GMT)
Draw is actually at 12.25pm. Portsmouth at home please.

McNamara That Ghost... - October 31, 2009 11:41 AM (GMT)
They'll talk about our game with the Spuds first I should imagine then.

McNamara That Ghost... - October 31, 2009 12:24 PM (GMT)
Draw will be on after the break. Although I guess they'll show last weekends goals first.

McNamara That Ghost... - October 31, 2009 12:26 PM (GMT)
Or the Carling Cup goals, even.

McNamara That Ghost... - October 31, 2009 12:30 PM (GMT)

Semi Final Line up

Jack Will Score - October 31, 2009 12:35 PM (GMT)
should be good experience for the kiddy winks

will also tire out the citeh mercs.

Jack Bauer - October 31, 2009 12:36 PM (GMT)
Man Shitty will play their first team for this no doubt. It'll be a miracle if we manage to get to the semi's.

Still it's a good test for the lads, and a first chance to play against quality PL opposition.

bergkampwonderland10 - October 31, 2009 12:36 PM (GMT)
Great draw - just a shame we're not at home.
Hopefully Adebayor will be playing and we can teach him how to play football.

Maxzimus - October 31, 2009 12:38 PM (GMT)
Need to beat City, AW better put a strongish lineup out....losing to Barndoor's team again would be hell!

With Hollywood in goal, we'll get plenty

The Madness of King Jens - October 31, 2009 12:45 PM (GMT)

:goodpost: He's clueless it doesn't even fit in with his name

JackTheLad19 - October 31, 2009 12:46 PM (GMT)
City are well into this. They put out their galacticos against Scunthorpe.

We'll still win :coffee:

davegordo - October 31, 2009 01:40 PM (GMT)
We've got Vela and Wilshere to come back! I see it going to extra time..... when half the man city team will come out of the changing room late after negotiating double pay for the half hour extra!

Milla - October 31, 2009 03:06 PM (GMT)
We can win this, Senderos and Silvestre are good enough to keep The Whore out. Ramsey, Merida, Wilshere, Vela all should be up for this. Walcott and Bendtner can use this as a warm up game after returning from injuries. :coffee:

RVP Left Foot - October 31, 2009 03:09 PM (GMT)
Forgot all about it with all the goings on today with us

It would be better to play the kids. Not expected to win with them out there. The pressure is all on man city at home. If we win, mark hughes

I'm wondering about that.
I think Money city might immediately go to the 'were a big club, we will play the kids' thing.
Despite everything they have a good academy after all.

I'd love it if this tie distracted their first team from an important upcoming league fixture but I dont think theyd let it happen.

Yeah trouble is I think the kids could get tonked, the defence is particularly important...City ripped us apart in the league I wouldn't like to see that again.

I think we need a good mix and a stronger lineup than against Liverpool as they'll play a strong lineup.

AW's got a decision to make. Its brinksmanship and a crucial point in the life of the new man city. If he puts a strong lineup out there and we lose, its demoralizing and city gain momentum. If we win with a strong lineup we shut city up, and they lose their only chance at silverware this season. We don't want to give them confidence like chelsea got when the won the league cup after abramovich came in.
If we put the kids in there, its the usual carling cup that doesnt matter. If the game is respectable then no harm to us. If we're on the wrong end of a laugher however, that would not be good either.

Ach - October 31, 2009 07:56 PM (GMT)
We have Chelsea the game before.

No way will anyone playing in that will play against City

if wenger lets city determine his policy and he ends up fielding the seniors in a carling QF he has already admitted the following
1) we're prioritising the carling cup now
2) were worried by city and are riled by them
3) we're more concerned about upsetting City's charge for fourth than winning the league.

Honestly I dont thin wenger will give a shit who he is playing - he will field he kids as usual. HE did that away to man utd in th carling cup in 2005(?) so why would he now field the seniors at the same point in the same cup when its only city?

Too much of a risk for the carling cup
