Bunk Moreland always comes quickly.

that's the thing, that's why we'll lose. Really a shame, 'cause we would've won at home, I feel.

very interesting to see who they play, since all the big clubs are now treating the CC as a youth cup. In some ways, playing the normal starting XI would be an admission that Citeh's small time. And Hughes seems precisely small-time enough to worry about creating that impression.

Ach - October 31, 2009 06:50 PM (GMT)
Hughes will play their first team as he has done in previous rounds

CK's Korma - October 31, 2009 06:56 PM (GMT)
They'll play their best 11 because they're very serious about winning this, in the same way the Chavs used it to begin their success period in 2005.

Syn - October 31, 2009 06:56 PM (GMT)
Would be quite funny (and absolutely fookin' brilliant) if he fields his strongest side and loses.

The kids are good but a couple of the regulars in midfield and attack would help our chances significantly.

----------------Mannone------------

Eboue--Silvestre--Senderos--Gibbs

----Ramsey--Eastmond--Nasri----

Bendtner---------Vela--------Rosicky

With players like Eduardo, Merida, Walcott (?) on the bench, there's plenty of goals there.

But I don't fancy our chances, tbh.

No way, why would we play Nasri and Rosicky? By Dec 2nd Nasri should have enough CC match practice. Play them against Chelsea on Nov 29th and Stoke on Dec 5th and leave CC for the kids. :good:

Syn - October 31, 2009 07:04 PM (GMT)
Fair point :good:

Ach - October 31, 2009 07:08 PM (GMT)

I dont get it.

Get Bendtner - November 1, 2009 12:14 PM (GMT)
Just a bunch of supporters of a Club with average at best goalkeepers having a laugh at an excellent keeper.

He's a very good keeper, but the caricature of him making 'Hollywood' saves is actually funny. It might not always be true but he does do it quite often.

Btw, when is the game in hand with Bolton played, if this CC game takes up that spot?

Syn - November 1, 2009 01:13 PM (GMT)
Having a laugh at the picture does not mean you're laughing at Given.

Yeah fuck that. Knowing RVP he probably will set out to do Adebawhore, accident waiting to happen.

Just stick to the kids and save the leg breaking for the return league game. :good:

You can insult me, you can judge me on the football pitch, that's normal. But don't touch my family, don't touch my parents, I love them more than everything on this earth."

Well said.

One of the reasons why i didnt want Ade to get punished for his celebrations.

Should have been given a 6 gam ban for his attack on RVP though

Der_Kaiser - November 2, 2009 12:15 AM (GMT)
We didn't sing about his parents, The Madness of King Jens, who was at Eastlands, has confirmed. When Spurs and other sides did, why wasn't he so fired up then? Great player but he speaks so much shit. Like about the stamp - he said he was going for the ball, which was 5 metres away at the time, then he admitted he did it, and then lied about apologising. Same thing with the two press conferences in which he said respectively he's staying and he wants out. You can't believe what he says in the press. It is rubbish. He's a massive twat, it's a shame cos he's a great player if his head is screwed on properly.

Syn - November 2, 2009 12:18 AM (GMT)
Great to hear RVP's comments. We should definitely play RVP - give him the chance to back up what he's saying.

No point waiting for the return league fixture because there's not a chance in hell Ade will brave a visit to the Emirates. It took Cashley over a year and it'll take Ade even longer. A convenient injury will rule him out of the game.

RVP's job is to take that option away and give him a proper injury.

Immoral? Sickening? Do I give a fuck?

More importantly, did Ade when he stamped on RVP's head?

All's fair. Let RVP go mental, tbf.

Jack Will Score - November 2, 2009 07:11 AM (GMT)
to be fair rvp didn't mention ade and hopefully he just wants to give a guiding hand to the youngsters against a mercenary experienced team.

No Arsenal fan sung about his parents.

The guy is deluded and making excuses. You could see even before the game (in papers and pre match warm up in our half) that he was trying to intimidate US).

ha, good luck. The last person to try to intimidate the US was Saddam Hussein, and look what happened there.

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure is looking forward to meeting his former club Arsenal in the quarter-finals of the League Cup, but insists his team must be better than they were when they faced the Gunners in the Premier League.

City won 4-2 at Eastlands in a controversial encounter earlier in the season, but Toure wants to see a better defensive performance from his side.

"I'm excited about it, but we have to admit that when we played against Arsenal earlier in the season, we played well but it was a game that could have finished 4-4!" he affirmed to City's official website.

"Yes, we scored some goals but we let them have so many chances. We were lucky that we took our chances and they did not.

"I think we need to analyse that game, we may have won it but we could have been better. We could have controlled it a lot more and defended better. That's what we are going to have to do again because it's going to be a really tough game.

"It doesn't matter which team they will play, but it will be hard because of the style they always play with and their team spirit whichever players they pick. There are not too many injuries at Arsenal at the moment either, they have togetherness and that can make a difference. But our team spirit is very good, and if we can get it right against them we'll show what problems we can cause other teams.

"We have great individuals, but we need to keep working for each other. We need to see strikers defending, and defenders getting goals, things like that can make a big difference."

And while City must take heart from their league win over the Gunners, they must not allow complacency to creep in, according to the Ivorian.

He added: "Mentally that win is a big thing for us, but we will still need to be careful. We know we can beat them, but we know they are still capable of fantastic football. We'll have to be focussed, because it won't be easy, but we just have to win and we have a winning spirit here. With that we could make a big difference.

"It's a cup tie, it's all about just one game and we'll give everything."

RVP Left Foot - November 6, 2009 04:07 PM (GMT)
Ade loves Arsene

"I love Arsene Wenger, and I will always keep that love for Arsene - he is the person who made me what I am today.

"I just want to show him what he has taught me in the three years that I was there, and that is the main thing I will keep in mind for the quarter-final next month."
