Massive game this and a must win one.

Why?

Cos Chavs v Man utd on the same weekend.

Marc Overmars - October 31, 2009 03:00 PM (GMT)
Must take advantage.

Wolves have put in some spirited performances at home so we need to be on our guard. Wouldn't bet against us though in this form.

JackTheLad19 - October 31, 2009 03:01 PM (GMT)
I will be going to this. Seen a bit of Wolves this year and they're ok, got some decent players in attack.

Vital we win.

Claiming draws against sides such as Aston Villa has given Wolverhampton Wanderers the confidence to go into a weekend tie against Arsenal looking for at least a point, according to striker Kevin Doyle.

Wolves have returned ten points from 11 rounds of Premier League action so far, but have battled to a number of surprising results.

The recently-promoted side have warded off an early-season relegation threat, and while Doyle expects a "tough game" when they play Arsenal, the Irishman believes that home comforts could be advantage for the Molineux outfit.

"It's been three big draws, Aston Villa, Everton, Stoke," he is reported by the official website of the Premier League to have said. "If we can perform like that, we should have no problems.

"It is fine margins. We are talking about three results and if we had lost 2-1 to Stoke we'd have been talking about points lost and struggling.

"Now we are positive and the second 45 minutes makes such a difference.

"We are looking for a tough game against Arsenal.

"It is always difficult but teams have shown you can get points against anyone these days and we are at home."

Wolves will have had a greater resting period than their weekend opposition, as Arsenal face a midweek Champions League tie against Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar.

Almunia

Sagna Gallas Vermaelen Gibbs

Diaby Song Cesc

Rosicky RVP Arshavin

Syn - November 5, 2009 12:37 AM (GMT)
Nasri in for Rosicky, and that's what Wenger will go with.

Ach - November 5, 2009 12:48 AM (GMT)
Wenger will use the "Nasri played 90 mins against Liverpool and AZ and he was tired" excuse

Syn - November 5, 2009 12:49 AM (GMT)
Ah yeah. It is a pretty good excuse, tbf.

Rosicky's not a bad replacement, I suppose.

Milla - November 5, 2009 04:58 AM (GMT)
Arshavin, Nasri, Rosicky and Eduardo are all fit but Wenger will start with Eboue and Diaby :coffee:

CESC FABREGAS has called on his Arsenal team-mates to get "up for it" at Wolves tomorrow.

Arsene Wenger's men can create some pressure on leaders Chelsea if they manage a sixth win from seven league games.

But despite facing Premier League new boys Wolves, Fabregas is expecting a tough match at Molineaux.

He said: "We will have to be at our best as usual because today there are no small teams in the Premier League, everyone makes it difficult if you are not up for it, so we will have to be motivated to beat them.

"It is noticeable that the 'big four' teams have lost a number of matches so far between them.

"In my opinion, that is better for the league because it means other teams are improving."

Fabregas, 22, also believes the number of Premier League teams playing attractive football is on the rise — and that includes Mick McCarthy's side.

The Spaniard added: "Maybe we are seeing teams throughout the division playing a little more football and trying to make passing combinations.

"We should never forget that people pay a lot of money to watch football and do not want to see players just kicking the ball up into the air.

"I know it is difficult to play one-twos and things like that, but you have to try your best to make the game attractive because people pay to see good football."

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy has pledged that Arsenal will not have an easy time of things at Molineux tomorrow.

Wolves will go on the offensive and attempt to put Arsene Wenger's men under real pressure.

"I won't be complaining on Saturday that 'we didn't have a go at them'," McCarthy said, according to The Times.

"I won't be sat with a beer in my hand thinking 'we just let them just roll us over and tickle our belly'.

"I watched AZ Alkmaar at Arsenal [in the Champions League on Wednesday], who over the last few years have won their league, have been fabulous and have some great footballers.

"Yet they got slapped completely when playing one up front, sitting back. They got played through, round, over, they just got mullered completely. We will try and play on the front foot.

"Has the best team always turned up and won? No. I live in hope all of the time."

McCarthy will also be looking to exploit what he perceives as the Gunners' vulnerability from set-pieces.

He added: "I noticed they let a two-goal lead slip at West Ham United and they conceded one against Alkmaar when 4-0 up.

"They can concede goals. There is no doubt we will have free-kicks, corners, throw-ins and they don't defend better than anyone else."

Wolves v Arsenal (1730 GMT)

Arsenal could have won every game this season with the way they've been playing and with all their players slowly coming back from injury they've started playing with the swagger we have come to expect.

The gulf is just so massive between the lower teams and the top clubs and Wolves will struggle to handle the movement of Arsenal's midfield this weekend.

Verdict: 0-2

TBF, if this match was being played last season we would most likely have come away with one point, given the way the away games against lesser teams went.

Syn - November 6, 2009 08:31 PM (GMT)
Arshavin to score in a 0-3 win.

JackTheLad19 - November 6, 2009 08:54 PM (GMT)
Eastmond is in the 18-man squad for this one apparently

Gubby-Allen - November 6, 2009 10:11 PM (GMT)
This match will say a lot about us.

Our first away match this season that's not a London derby or against a big side.

Arguably the first away game of about 11 or 12 where we really should win.

Get Bendtner - November 6, 2009 10:40 PM (GMT)
I hope we win.
