Title: Noise at the Emirates
Theologooner - November 2, 2009 12:15 PM (GMT)
It seems as though AW got annoyed on Saturday by the noise, he says he threw his jacket away in frustration because the noise stopped him communicating with the players. So it seems that as soon as we finally generate a decent atmosphere, AW doesn't like it. What do we do now?

That was one of the worst lies I' ve seen AW use.

???????
No. He had a sore throat, so he couldn't shout properly to the players
He wanted to smash the spuds 4 or 5 so when Eduardo missed he threw his jacket to the ground
Wish the stadium was like that all the time with such great noise not just for the big matches

Just a brilliant, brilliant day.
Singing all the way to the ground, and the atmosphere was superb. Singing all the way from the ground :scarf:

In two separate interviews, he said it was a cold and then it was the noise. Blatantly, he wanted the clean sheet and thought the players might cock it up. He was furious when Diaby lost possession etc

I haven't seen wenger that angry for a long time..
About time he gives them a decent bollocking though :coffee:

I think Wenger was pretty frustrated by the lack of motivation when we were 2:0 up.
The team seemed like they had already won the match, typical Arsenal this year though. When they are 2 goals in front, they start to toy with the other team. I would also throw my jacket if that happened.

It wasn't lack of motivation -- that's a tired explanation that really just doesn't hold water.
If you want to think of it in terms of motivation, think of it as misplaced motivation. The players were getting too far forward and taking other risks in order to score. AW wanted them to play more conservatively to protect the lead.
Better than lack of motivation would be lack of frigging intelligence. We weren't doing the right things to ensure victory.

this season is turning a bit into 'those Wenger moments'
at ManU it was 'Jesus in the stands'
against Spurs 'trying to knock Pat Rice out with his jacket'
what next?
as long as he doesn't do a sulk in the centre circle, I'm looking forward to his next moment
by the way, he was angry with the team, Eduardo should have scored.....Spuds needed to have their words even futher rammed down their throat!!! muppets!! :fingers:
Save me Jebus! - November 3, 2009 11:24 AM (GMT)
It was more to do with the fact that he wanted Song and Diaby to sit in front of the back 4 and just hold. He didnt want to concede a late goal or let spuds get back in it.
Diaby was being his usual self and kept running forward like a headless muppet, loosing possesion and thats why he got annoyed.

Give him a volume control and link it to a giant volume control image on the big screens. When he wants to talk to the players, he just turns it down, we shut up while he shouts his instructions, then he turns it up again and we resume.
Maybe also give him a text option so he can display 'Applaud', 'Cheer', 'Laugh' and so on.

Wenger does not like that kind of thing. But it is just possible that the fans might ignore him and do the necessary when people like C**tley C**t, Bentley, Adepaidmore and others turn up.
