Title: Why is ITV not showing the AZ game?
Description: While Poo's game is on ITV1??
Justhandguns - November 4, 2009 12:34 PM (GMT)
I don't understand.
Now that the Arsenal v AZ game is on SS2, why the hell do ITV not show the game on Wed?
LuvDeGooners - November 4, 2009 12:36 PM (GMT)
Liverpool is a much bigger match. If they loose they're pretty fucked.
Our matches haven't really inspired much interest other than for Arsenal fans....
Flava Flav - November 4, 2009 12:37 PM (GMT)
cant you just watch it on sky?
Bunk Moreland - November 4, 2009 12:40 PM (GMT)
Because they only have the rights to show one match from the rounds and they chose the match with bigger audiences.
Whatever - November 4, 2009 01:12 PM (GMT)
well...I'm an Arsenal fan and even I'm not sure whether to watch the game tonight...our group is a complete snoozefest
Grebbo - November 4, 2009 01:27 PM (GMT)
ITV coverage is shit anyway.
Coney - November 4, 2009 01:31 PM (GMT)
I'm going down the pub where they have sky. :good:
RVP Left Foot - November 4, 2009 01:44 PM (GMT)
ITV Only have 1 match now on a wednesday, and that is it no more tuesdays anymore

Conversely, Liverpool are always brilliant to watch
:sarcy:
Although yeah, tonight's Arsenal game hardly sets the pulses racing with anticipation.
Ach - November 4, 2009 01:50 PM (GMT)
I can understand the Liverpool game being shown today.
Question is, if they lose today, they are virtually out so will ITV show their next game on a wednesday or will they show us?
They'll be out by then and we'll be through
Whatever - November 4, 2009 01:50 PM (GMT)
well..it's a very important match for Liverpool, regardless of the shit on a stick football that they play
even if draw tonight, nobody will give a flying fuck, because we will qualify anyway

I always enjoy watching Liverpool in Europe, yep.
You lot, not so much.
In the league, i'll always watch you. But in Europe i prefer to see the difference in styles, rather than watching you lot doing exactly what the other team is and vice versa.

Not even the special Anfield nights can save Liverpool :upset:

StamfordBridge - November 4, 2009 03:29 PM (GMT)
Basically your group is piss fucking easy. No real interest.
Liverpool on the other hand could almost get kicked out of the CL tonight :woohoo: .
Thing is though if they lose they'll probably go on to win the UEFA cup.

I would actually hope they did.
It might be enough to save Rafa's job and then i can be happy listening to his crazy rants for another season.

come on. What more interesting for the neutral - liverpool going down in flames or arsenal killing off a shit team at home the same way that utd did last ni..
oh no wait.

To be honest in Europe a lot of our games are boring, we seem to lack that spark and just seem a bit unconvincing.
The home game tend to be slightly better but we need to play with a bit of intent which we don't always.

That was a great team that was exciting to watch. I use to look forward to Europe in those days as I genuinely believed we had a chance of winning the trophy.
These days I'm just living on hope rather than belief.
Be nice to see a convincing display against a decent side for a change rather than stumbling through. Didn't think we could win it last season as we really weren't great throughout most of it, having said that didn't expect to be outclassed as we were in the semi, I thought we'd at least be up for it and show some fight.

Not for him because 4th place and few cup humblings in the latter stages represents a good season!

Which is weird given that in our real period of domestic dominance we weren't that convincing in Europe, in seasons where we've not challenged for the title we've been getting to the latter stages most years.

I don't expect to win the title every season at all, I expect us to pick up a trophy here and there and to certainly put up a good fight (i.e not get outclassed in a semi).
That's what big clubs should aim for at the end of the day, trophies not 4th place.

He said: "I don't think a team going through the season unbeaten will happen again.
"What Arsenal did last season was a one-off - and even then you could not exactly say that the way they played represented true championship form. There were too many draws for that.
"They had to go through undefeated to win the League. The fact that they had so many draws meant they couldn't afford any defeats.

That was a strange season, I think we played well but we did play some top teams who weren't in their best at the time.
Having said that we gave Barca a real tough game and for me that was the most enjoyable game as we showed lots of fight and were just undone because we were a bit tired.

I agree we weren't (except in that season Chelsea beat us in the semi - really thought it was our year and was really gutted when we lost), but the fact we were such a good side had you believing you had a good chance if you could get your act together.
We always seemed a bit restrained in Europe oddly, if we'd played our game I'm sure we would have done better.
