McNamara That Ghost... - April 9, 2006 06:10 PM (GMT)
I think I will have to wait till about 10pm on Wednesday for any optimism to come to the fore.

We should beat them but what's worrying is they've started scoring goals with alarming regularity :yikes:
McNamara That Ghost... - April 9, 2006 06:22 PM (GMT)
Maybe I should split this topic into a Portsmouth one now.
Thing about Portsmouth is they are completely gung-ho at the moment. We should be able to create enough chances for us to air-shot.

McNamara That Ghost... - April 9, 2006 06:32 PM (GMT)
Mind games!!!!
CescFabregas4 - April 9, 2006 06:32 PM (GMT)
Pompey have a poor defense, so we need to kill them off early....
I think Cesc would've been rested anyway, so Diaby to start, and Ade and Henry upfront..
Reyes and Freddie as well IMO...I think it's likely Sol will play, and Phil will be pushed out to the right..Thierry hasn't been at the races outside of London since last season, generally speaking, but with Ade alongside him, hopefully he'll show us some magic and make the Pompey fans sing his name again.
RBGunner - April 9, 2006 06:33 PM (GMT)
Wednesday, i love midweek games dunno why.
damu!! - April 9, 2006 06:54 PM (GMT)
just pretend its a CL game and we will have no problems ,
i think a henry hat trick is due
ThePoetBanned - April 9, 2006 07:28 PM (GMT)
I love Portsmouth, I always have, their fans have such a great atmosphere at the club and I always feel a bit sad inside (about 2%) when we beat them... So although I'll be cheering like mad for Arsenal on Wednesday I still don't think we should destroy Pompey in the Fulham-Villa style.
Off topic but let me ask you this...
If you were Kolo Toure wouldn't you put your hands up to your face if Wayne Rooney was lining up a shot directly at you???... I'm sure Kolo doesn't want to be known as Polo - The Defender with a hole (in his face)

I've posted that everywhere I can lol, I've had great feedback on it...
I might put it in my signature lol.
Cripps - April 9, 2006 10:57 PM (GMT)
Lehmann
Eboue Toure Campbell Flamini
Ljungberg Diaby Gilberto Reyes
Adebayor Henry
That is my predicition for the team that will play
nbgooner - April 9, 2006 11:33 PM (GMT)
Just because we had one bad result against man u doesn't mean it will continue, look at our form over the last month. Our away form hasn't been great this season but I fully expect us to take 3 points from pompey. B)
RBGunner - April 10, 2006 01:50 PM (GMT)
I swear the tickets for this were on general sale at one stage?
CescFabregas4 - April 10, 2006 02:39 PM (GMT)
With a refreshed Thierry, going back to his favourite ground besides Highbury, I expect a good day from him...
I'm still undecided if I should watch it though, Prem Plus has brought me back luck on the last 3 occasions..

They were on general sale because some people returned their original tickets who cannot make the postponed fixture.
And there are still tickets now, so if you want to go, get down to the stadum early tommorow.
MOMSBATFISFOBYAC - April 11, 2006 06:22 PM (GMT)
My colleagues son is the mascot...we've bet him a tenner he can't put one past Lehman
RBGunner - April 11, 2006 11:47 PM (GMT)

WBSH_Cesc - April 12, 2006 12:34 PM (GMT)
I heard that Sol has been recalled to the starting line-up. It will be a shame to end our current back-four... but Arsene obviously has faith in Sol so who are we to argue?
Fabregas has a slight knock as well, i'm hoping it isn't too serious but I think he needs a rest, Diaby will be a good replacment. Reyes is also out.
The importance of this match could determine our future of the club for the next few years. Lose and die.... well not litterally but you know what I mean!
:scarf: :title:
CescFabregas4 - April 12, 2006 01:14 PM (GMT)
Reyes will play, where did you hear that he's out?
Philippe Senderos is rested to make way for Campbell. Wenger has also brought back Jose Antonio Reyes and Freddie Ljungberg. Francesc Fabregas will miss the game with a foot injury he picked up at Old Trafford. It is only expected to be a short-term problem.

Debbie Does Gallas - April 12, 2006 06:31 PM (GMT)
Arsenal line up:
Lehmann
Djourou Campbell Toure Flamini
Ljungberg Diaby Song Reyes
Henry Adebayor
Philsko - April 12, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
Song seems a bit of a surprise, i know Fabregas has injured his foot or something but what about Gilberto or Wenger just resting him?
Gallas The Gooner - April 12, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
Is Almunia injuired?. Because he wasn't on the bench at Old Trafford and not today at Fratton Park. So is Poom 2nd choice or is Almunia injured?.
Gunning_Lion - April 12, 2006 07:23 PM (GMT)

Gunning_Lion - April 12, 2006 07:34 PM (GMT)
Have they come close to scoring?
Hopefully Henry will drop back a little and so we can get a bit more of the ball.
